Nothing wrong with a little bit of a break before the biggest night she's had in a very long time. Sitting around the clubhouse, drinking with John and his crew, was just what she needed to relax. She was unsure of how many drinks she had consumed, or how long they had been making eyes across the room. They smirked and she stumbled down the hall, followed closely by John. The two slipped into a room and before long, dawn broke through the windows and she sat up slowly rubbing her eyes, his hand rested on her lower back. She started getting dressed, turning to look at him as she did.
"I'd love to stay John, but I have to get to New York for the show. It's time someone knocked that chip off his shoulder."
Alexandra was putting her hair up and slipping into her t-shirt, before putting her leather jacket back on.
"Hey your flight not for another three hours.. you have plenty of time. You don't have to leave yet."
"Yes but if I don't get a move on.. I'll never leave.."
"Then stay here.."
Alexandra chuckled loudly.
"And be another hang around. Nah.. we both know I got more class than that John. And we also both know.. that's not what you want. "
She gave him another wink and made her way out of the building, him following just a bit behind.
"If you need anything.. you know where I.. we are."
She started her Harley up and looked at him with a smile. She took his hand.
"I know. Thank you.."
"Yeah yeah.. Get out of here.. don't need people thinking I've gone soft."
They both gave each other a smirk and the two let go of each other's hands. She drove off, heading towards the airport. Passing billboards promoting different specials at local restaurant, she spotted one, promoting Rumble in the Bronx, the images were of her and Harmon. Her image was set forward of his, as if he was behind her. Telling .. very telling. He was behind her.. beneath her in ways he could never understand.. then again.. he should be used to being the bitch boy bottom.
It's always the same old song and dance with every opponent.. I'm better than you.. and blah blah blah.. I'm going to put you at the end of the line.. It gets old after about the third or fourth time its heard. Oh what brilliance.. what smarts. It's the same old shit everyone says, week in and week out. I've been in this game since 1999, and there's nothing you could say or do that hasn't been said or done before. Hopefully Harmon can find something new to say. Don't be another Mark Storm.. talk a big game and then pussy out at the last minute.. though it would make sense.. considering I am something to fear. Same old tune, just a different singer. When is there going to be something WORTH facing. The best part about facing Harmon.. will be that I will relieve him of the Craze Title. And everything will be as it should be.
Arriving at the airport and getting through TSA was super easy, having taken just enough to get everything going. Her gear for the ring.. and a few changes of clothes was all she had really needed. The flight would be a few hours, Reno to New York was going to be a big change. Once on the plane, Alexandra put her headphones in, drifting off in the music. She needed to focus on Harmon, on winning that Craze Title. For once, there was nothing holding her back, nothing that could stop her from winning and she would do whatever it too.
It's true, my OCW record had been marred with losses after months of a winning streak. But that's the way this industry was.. you win some.. you lose some. It's what you do with it that counts. When it came down to it, what could HARMON have to show for his Craze Title Reign. Especially if she came in and destroyed him, the way she had taken out Tearra Skye the last time she was in the ring. Since that match, she had been focused on one thing, the CRAZE Title. Vowing that nothing would stop her from getting it. Harmon would be no different than any of the others who had come before him.
Leaning back and closing her eyes, she drifted off in the music, unaware that back home, things were happening that she could never have expected to happen to her family. Her brother's house had exploded, it was thought that her child, her brother, and her niece were all inside the home. The police and everyone had been calling for hours, trying to get ahold of her, but being on her flight, she was unavailable.
Harmon, Harmon.. Harmon.. poor little Harmony. I'm not locked in that arena with you. You are in there with me. An animal in a cage. A woman who isn't afraid anymore. A woman who isn't out to help her so called friends. There's no one holding me back.. no reason to ALLOW you to win so that my friend can take the title you hold. No.. this is my time. That title is mine. You want to stop me.. you'll have to kill me kid. And bigger men have tried. You think you'll be the one to do it. Then you really are living in some fucking fairytale. Welcome to the real world my dear, where little men like you get destroyed by Dark Queens. You think you have what it takes.. if Easton couldn't end me.. what makes you think you can? You couldn't hold a candle to him.
The flight attendant came by bringing my meal and drink, first class baby. OCW knew how to take care of it's talent. It left her wondering just how did Harmon fly? By fairy dust? Think happy thoughts? If that was the case.. it wasn't by any real means of travel. Honey.. anything you trip on.. doesn't make your fairytale real. You want a villain.. fine.. you've got one.
Ask anyone who truly knows me, Easton, Mark Storm, Crash, CJ O'Donnell, Alice, Ed Houston hell.. even Cypher could tell you what I'm like. Well that was if his dumb ass hadn't of gotten locked up for doing stupid shit. But that's not the point. It doesn't matter who the fuck you think you are.. or who the fuck I know I am. When the match is over and the dust fucking settles, your reign is over Harmon. You think you'll get double digits on my god damned name? On one hand.. maybe.. on the other.. the ONLY way you'll get that.. is after I've made you bleed and disqualifying myself from the win. You aren't going to win by playing it clean. You might get a win.. if you survive the HELL I'm going to put you through in that ring. Ask, Plethora.. one of the biggest and most feared men in OCW, just what happens when I want to make a point. I stood toe to toe with him, after clocking him over the head. I beat the shit out of Easton Alexander.. and gained his respect.. and now.. I'll take your title.. and you'll bow to me.
Call after call had poured into Alexandra's phone and still she wasn't in the know about what had transpired in the morning hours, right as her flight was preparing to board. She was unaware of the state of her life or what was currently happening in her life. The flight would be landing in New York soon enough and she would know all.
People like Harmon rarely survived this industry. They'd burn out quickly, either through becoming so jaded of what this industry is really like.. or they would wear their bodies out quickly, and then regret the fact that they could never walk again. Crossing Alexandra was a way to get yourself there faster, but so far.. he had been unable to really get under her skin. Harmon grasped at the straws of those who came before him, trying to reach out for instance of help that he could get. What help could he get from those she had already left her mark on. Soon he would join them in the land of the forgotten, a mere stepping stone to greatness. He's a small fish in an ocean of sharks. The only reason he has that title around his waist, is because Crash made a mistake.. Crash didn't keep his focus where it needed to be. No matter what.. she had a vow to her daughter.. a vow to win to be the new Craze champion.. and she would do it.. no matter the cost.
Once off the plane, Alexandra looked down at her phone, twelve missed calls. She listened to the messages, before dropping to her knees in the middle of the airport. She trembled at the messages, her brother's house had exploded, sometime around seven am this morning. Her thoughts instantly went to her family, she was now truly alone. Why did this have to happen on the biggest day. Everything inside of her told her to hop a flight back home to Dallas, and blow off the show. But she knew that she couldn't. No.. in their honor, she would have to do this, for them.
Harmon had no idea what he was going to be going up against now. She was unhinged, hurting.. no in the place she should be mentally to be going into the match. Her daughter was missing, presumed dead, her brother and niece too. Just when Alexandra's life seemed to be getting better, something comes along and destroys what she had worked so hard to build. She had left her daughter with the one person she could trust, without a doubt.. and now they both were gone. HARMON would feel her wrath, though their death's were not his fault. It would be scorched earth.. the policy she now lived by.
The words played over in her mind as she knelt on the cold tile floor.
Scorched Earth, Scorched Earth, Scorched Earth.. Destroy it all.. bring it down in a storm of flames and ash. Leave nothing in my wake. Destroy him, take his title. Burn him like they did her. Wreck his dreams before he has a chance to fully realize them. Break him, tear him apart, burn his whole existance to the ground. Make him start anew. Show him what happens when you cross a woman.. with nothing left to lose. Say your prayers to whatever power you believe in, because tonight, you'll go to meet them in person, BITCH.
She pulled out her cellphone and dialed a number, praying he would pick up.
"Come on John.. come on.. please pick up.."
She heard a click and the tone stopped.
"Alexandra.. whats wrong.."
"Something.. happened.."
"Alexandra.. talk to me.."
Something about her tone bothered him, it shouldn't, they were just friends after all.
"My brother's house.. it blew up.. they suspect arson.. "
"He's a cop.. these things.. happen Alex.. I'm sure they are fine."
"John.. my daughter was there..."
The sound in her voice, the way it quivered.
"Oh fuck.." Her silence bothered him. He knew how important her family was to her. He knew what he would do if it was his family. He had to help her. "We.. we're on it. I'll find out what happened.. and deal with it. Don't do anything stupid Alex, let us handle this.. we know what to do."
She was silent for a few more moments before speaking.
"Thank you John.. I have.. I have to go.. and I make no promises."
She hung up the phone. Tonight's show.. was going to be hell. SCORCHED EARTH, for Harmon and anyone who tried to stand in her way.
Adieu, Goodbye, Auf Wiedersehen....
