"This past Monday night at Massacre I sat in the back and waited, patently, for something to happen."
"Anything."
"I watched as a sub-par Massacre unfolded, thinking maybe after this match, maybe after this segment or after this commercial..."
"Surely he's going to come at me with all his fury and anger, with everything that makes him Crash Rodriguez. It's just a matter of time, not if but when... Crash is going to come after me and do something worst to me than what I did."
"Or maybe, he'll come after my family... Maybe he'll go after Paco, an eye for an eye if you will."
"Maybe he goes after Cholo, he's been hanging out with me a lot recently, surely Crash would think that taking out Cholo would hurt me..."
"But as I checked with the two of them and others, they all told me the same thing: all good here X, nothing to worry about here X, he's going to come for you, not us."
"Surely he would..."
"But before I knew it, the show was over and nothing happened."
"How disappointing."
"Did you already tuck your tail between your legs and ran Crash Rodriguez? You doing like a lot of other wrestlers who are 'bigger than life' elsewhere but realize OCW is not a walk in the park, and bail?"
"Did what I did to your boy mean nothing to you? That man is your confidant, your representative, got you the Paradigm title before you even fought for it. That's the man that speaks for you, that clearly fights your battles and yet you do nothing to avenge him?"
"I sat in the back, steel chair in one hand, Paradigm title on the other waiting for you to come at me. I didn't have any reason to be at Massacre other than to give you the opportunity to step to me and show me what you got, show me that the Paradigm title actually means something more to you than a hand-me-down. I could have headed to London early and begun my preparations for our match, but nah, I wanted to give you the chance for payback."
"Now I am wondering if you are even going to show up at Masters of the Macabre. Will what was supposed to be your coronation become mine? I hope not because I definitely do not want the title that way. I earns mine, each and every time, and even though it is not the World Title, I will still give the Paradigm championship my respect and work my ass for it. I want everyone that comes for this belt in the future to know that the title means something and that it is worth fighting for. I want the title to know that I sweat, teared and bled for it even more than Outcast ever did."
"I can't tell you how disappointed I am in you Crash, but you still have a chance, at the pay-per-view, come at me with all you got. Otherwise, your new nickname won't be the butcher, but simply... the butchered."
Beatrix sits next to Xavier's bed, reading while Xavier watches her quietly as she hasn’t noticed he’s awake again. After a while longer, she puts the book down and stretches and it is here when she notices he is awake. She smiles and he smiles back.
Xavier: You're a very beautiful woman.
She blushes
Beatrix: I thought you were asleep.
Xavier: I was.
Beatrix: Were you dreaming again?
Xavier: Yes.
Beatrix: About what?
Xavier: I wish I dreamed about you, but sadly, mostly death.
Beatrix: I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have asked.
Xavier: I don’t mind. Ever since the attack, that’s all I dream about… But waking up from those dreams, those nightmares, is always worth it.
Beatrix: Why?
Xavier: Because when I wake, I see your face.
They sit and look at each other for a while.
Beatrix: Tell me more about your dreams.
Xavier: Well, you and I go back to America together. Then-
She laughs.
Beatrix: Not those silly, the ones about death.
Xavier: Well, you’re dark.
Beatrix: Don’t say that, I’m not. It’s just that, well, I believe you.
Xavier: Thanks, they are getting worse, I can't seem to stop them just like I can’t seem to stop falling for you.
Beatrix: Stop, you would say that to any nun that took care of you.
Xavier: No I wouldn’t.
Beatrix: Sure.
Xavier: No, I really like you. Do you like me?
Beatrix: I-
She pauses, looking out the window at the partly cloudy night sky, with the moon barely visible but the skies are clearing up.
Beatrix: I made a vow, I can’t think those forbidden thoughts, I’m sorry.
Xavier: Ouch. Slash my heart up like the rest of my body why don’t you?
He says this with a wink and a smile and she blushes again. The moonlight comes through the window now thanks to the skies clearing, almost like a spotlight focusing on them. She grabs his hand like before.
Xavier: See, I’m not so bad- argh…
Beatrix: What’s wrong?
Xavier grabs his head and cries out in pain. Beatrix goes to get the sedative while he begins to sweat profusely then tremble violently. He begins to claw at his own chest, tearing his shirt off. His body begins to spasm, Beatrix comes back with the sedative, and tries to give it to him but no luck as he cries out in pain.
Xavier: Help me! Please!
Beatrix: I’m trying-
He breaks off the handcuffs somehow and slaps the syringe off her hand; he then grabs his legs, holding on to them tightly as if trying to prevent them from ripping apart.
Xavier: Gio was right, it’s happening! ARGH! Kill me please! Kill me now!
Beatrix: I can’t!
New bolts of agonizing pain wreck through Xavier's body, he rips his pants off and then breaks free off the cuffs binding his feet. Beatrix rushes off to get help. Xavier falls to the floor, landing on his hands and knees, gasping for air. The metamorphosis from man into wolf has clearly begun, his bones enlarge and his muscles reform themselves with his skin stretching and hair growing at rapid pace. His mouth bleeds as fangs emerge; his whole face is getting distorted as his jaw extends and his skull changes shape. His hands and feet become paws with sharp claws, his ears enlarge, and his face now has a snout. His cries from pain have turn to moans, but as the transformation is almost complete, he begins to softly growl.
A mass takes place, the father who had visited Xavier on his first night is speaking to a congregation of nuns. Just then, a door busts open from the side and out comes Nun Beatrix rushing towards Father Rollins. Murmurs grow amongst the nuns as they wonder what is going on. Beatrix whispers into his ears and his eyes get filled with horror; he quickly dismisses everyone, asking them to go back to their dormitories. He then rushes off with Beatrix.
The room is completely trashed… All the beds have been turned over, mattresses ripped apart, shelves overturned and one of the windows has been shattered. The Father and nurse come in, and he walks towards the window right away, looking outside. He sees the city of London under the bright full moon; a scream is heard here, another one there, another, another … The Father backs away from the window and does the sign of the cross.
I have become the beast, and now I am free. Free to do whatever I want, but what will I do? Feed of course, but even though I am leaving a trail of bodies as I work my way through the streets of London, I haven’t eaten anyone yet. Why? Vengeance is what must be fed first… Vengeance on those who knew what would happen but yet allowed it to… Vengeance on those who should have killed me instead of kept me prisoner in that convent. Yes, the so-called doctor who knew my condition and still play dumb. Yes, him I must fuck up first.
We find ourselves outside of the London hospital, conveniently the doctor who was seeing Xavier is leaving, done for the night. As he walks towards his car, he goes to unlock it when The werewolf lands on top of it, caving the roof in. He jumps back scared as The werewolf lets out a huge howl. The doctor attempts to flee but the beast quickly jumps in front of him cutting his path. It grabs him by both of his arms and then rips them right off their socket, sending blood flying everywhere! The doctor just stands there, body in shock, trembling before the beast bites his shoulder, ripping off a huge chunk of flesh right off. People who are around rush away in horror and a cop nearby calls for backup before hiding himself. The doctor’s lifeless body drops to the ground as the Werewolf now heads for its next target. The cop sees it fleeing and quickly gets his nerve and chases after it, speaking into his radio the whole way. Sirens are heard in the background.
More Vengeance… on those who wouldn’t let us stay at the pub and hang for the night knowing full well what would happen if we went back out there. Yes, this is all their fault, and now they must pay.
Now we’re back where this story started, at the Slaughter Lamb Pub where screams are heard as the beast rips through each and every one of them. We don’t get to witness the carnage, we just hear it until a couple of men escape the bar, running for their lives but then the main window of the bar is busted open by the beast. They stop to look back, staring at its bright yellow eyes. They make a run for it but the beast is too fast for them, pouncing on one and biting his leg, ripping it clean off its body. It then goes after the other man who pulls out a gun and tries to shoot back but the beast slaps his arm, breaking it. He falls to the ground and the werewolf jumps on him and begins ripping through his chest with its sharp claws. Once done, the beast disappears into the darkness, heading for its last victim.
Back at the convent, the Father stands inside, back where he was preaching, all alone, rubbing his brow with his right hand. A crash is heard, as one of the large windows is shattered by the beast as it breaks through. It lands right between the rows of pews, at the path that leads right up to the table where communion takes place. The Father jumps to his feet and reveals that he is holding a pistol on his left hand. The beast howls loudly as it gets on all fours and begins breathing heavily, ready to go on the attack. The Father shakily aims the pistol at the beast and then speaks.
Father Rollins: I am sorry, we should have done this a long time ago, I hoped it wouldn’t come to this. I hoped you wouldn’t turn, I was naïve.
Just then the doors to the convent burst open and in rush in a dozen if not more police officers with guns in hand, heading right for the Werewolf, who turns around and prepares itself to go to war. However, Nun Beatrix rushes in from the same door the cops just came through, somehow gets past them and then gets in between them and the beast, spreading her arms to the side.
Beatrix: STOP! PLEASE DON’T SHOOT!
They hold their fire as she bravely holds her ground. She then turns towards the beast with pleading eyes, she lowers her arms and then stretches them out to it.
Beatrix: Xavier, I know you’re in there. I know you can hear me, the beast may be controlling you now but you can control it! Try, dig deep inside…
The beast just howls loudly and that prompts the cops to bring their guns back up and take aim.
Beatrix: Stop! Please, you can do it!
A tear rolls down her cheek and this seems to soothe the beast as it stops growling. It then gets on two feet, and it’s becoming obvious it is trying to reverse the effects and begins to slowly turn when BANG! A single shot is fired. The beast growls as Beatrix screams in horror, it drops to all fours and turns its attention towards the Father who has fired the shot that would seal his fate. The beast rushes towards him as the cops move forward, one of them grabbing the nun to prevent her from interfering any further. The Father fires another shot, but it doesn’t face the Werewolf who jumps on him, biting his head and ripping it clean off.
The werewolf howls the loudest it has up to now, feeling accomplished.
Dozens of guns go off.
Nun Beatrix screams.
The wolf falls dead.
The cops rush over to confirm their kill and to their surprise, they don’t find the American werewolf, but the American wrestler, dead and naked, at the foot of the cross.
Beatrix sits on a pew, crying, thinking about what might have been.
