"New Chapters are a weird beast, are they not?" Brianna begins. "I think it is mostly because you think that when they begin that you going to be different; that things are going to be different. But here I am, finally with the Central title in my possession but I do not feel THAT different. Maybe it was because I actually did win the title a month ago. Maybe it is the fact that I have been living with Ian's desperate attempts to be relevant that it feels weird that it is over now. Or maybe it is all of this morphine I am currently." She then starts laughing for absolutely no reason in her hospital bed. Even though she was able to walk on her own accord, she was admitted due to two months worth beatings at the hands of Ian Bishop ...capped off by a grueling match where he pulled out all of the stops to retain the title that was not his in the first place and STILL FAILED.
"I think it is the morphine" Alice says from her hospital bed next to her tag team partner. "Or maybe it is because LOVE surrounds all of us right now. You are so pretty" Alice then burst into laughter herself.
"You are pretty too. You are so beautiful. You are like an angel. A beautiful homeless, kind of dirty angel." Brianna says with a smile on her face it is not her usual smile but is instead a smile that is VERY hopped up on morphine. "But the thing with this new chapter is that it is still apart of the same novel ...because as obnoxious as Ian was, not mention as fun as experimenting on him was, he was only apart of a much bigger problem in the company. The fact is that there are a group of men who want the company handed to them; who believe that bullying and gang bangs are the way to get the power they so seek."
Alice looks at her partner with whimsy and fascination. "But isn't there a group or like seven groups forming to fight The Family now? Oh look, those ghosts are back."
"But look at the blokes involved and look at the tactics already involved. They are only attacking The Family because they want to REPLACE The Family ...not get rid of such unhealthy behavior. Basically, this new group or groups is fighting for power, NOT a controlled equality. Nothing changes if they accomplish their goal. Same monster; different face. It is not like the monster that is currently under my bed." Brianna then busted out into laughter again. Alice immediately joins her.
"What are we laughing about?" Alice raises her eyebrow.
"I haven't the foggiest love." Brianna says still chuckling from her hospital bed as she moves her head ...but then a sharp pain hits her ...as she realized that she had just been beaten with a metal. "Oh that stings."
"So what?" Alice begins not paying attention to her partner's pain mostly because the morphine is making it easy for her not to notice. "You are going to move on from Ian to like the whole Family?"
"Something like that. I am not much of a vengeance or revenge type of person. They joined a business venture that just so happened to involve tormenting me ...they I have my own personal bone to pick with Roach. But again, this is more about the bigger here. We have a group here that is about rigging things in their favor; that is not about the greater good but what is good for them. But when you get down to it, it is more like one man manipulating three greedy and impressionable ones. In essence, it is one nation under Mario. The worst part of all of this is that they are inspiring imitators. They are setting an unhealthy precedent on how to achieve success in this company. It is a business model that needs to be proven wrong to get the other leeches in the company to stand down ...and to perhaps make of the smarter ones realizing that they were backing the wrong horse and made false promises. For that reason, I am performing a broader operation this time. Yes, it is not an experiment any more, it is a surgery to remove a cancerous tumor in the brain so it does not spread and affect the rest of the body."
"And you are going to do that how, President Reagan?" Alice asks as she momentarily believes that her partner is the popular actor/President.
"I am still putting that together, but President Dean wants to speak to me later this week ...along with Mr. Buffett. If I had to take a guess, it would about that very issue. But for now, I get to go through them one on one as I build this title up to what it needs to be. Of course, I had to make things worth their wild anyways ...and I have the proper tool to do that now. It is a two birds, one stone situation, love. And I begin with Roach. I know you got your revenge but that is not enough for me. He ruined my friends transpor-home-tion in the name of being a pest and a "team player" for his Family. In this particular case, Karma is not yet finished with him at this point."
"Yeah," Alice says. "But what really grinds my gears is that no matter how many times we kick his ass, it does not bring my car-home back."
Despite the morphine REALLY hitting her, an idea occurs to the British born OCW Central Champion. A smirk appears on Brianna's face as a nice gesture has crossed her mind. "No, no it doesn't."
LATER
"Is this a gift?" The salesman asks Brianna as she carefully eyes this Florida car lot where the heat has forced her to wear something that she, surprisingly, has never worn out in public: a pair of tan shorts. This is accompanied by what those in the states call a wife beater. While this is not normally her style ...after a few days in Florida, she knew that she was going to have to switch up her wardrobe a little bit. This was prompted even more by the fact that after this Massacre, OCW is heading to the West as a guest of Jimmy Buffet. With those things in mind, the change in fashion was made. She has never felt this comfortable also this self conscious in her life. Her wrestling gear is her wrestling gear. She never has time to think about what she is wearing ...plus, she can never really see the gymnasium full of men staring her down ...as this forty something salesman is doing with her as she walks ahead. Wearing something like this doing her casual one on one business is much different. The huge scar on her left leg due to a House of Mirrors match is also making her feel a bit vulnerable when she is out in the open like this ...not to mention all of the other scars.
"It is something like that." Brianna says as she eyes all of the nice cars in the lot. While all used, some are top quality and even this year's model. But looking at all of these flashy cars, something does not seem right; something doesn't fit. "A friend had her car wrecked by an insecure, I guess or a lack of a better word, gutter punk. It was everything to her and despite getting a victory over him, she is still car and home-less. And seeing that I pulled her into all of this, I take responsibility for the action and owe it to her to see her in something fitting."
"Well, this 2013 Toyota Tacoma is perfect for the woman on the go." He says, not understanding a word she just said but knowing that he has to make this sale.
"Yes, it is quite nice. But isn't quite ...how do I put this?" Brianna says as she fumbles for the right words. "It just isn't her style. While I want to get her something state of the art, she has kind of an old soul."
"Is she your ...you know ...significant other." The car salesman asks trying to picture Brianna hooking up with another lady. The fact that she can tell that this was what he was thinking makes her blush. Yes, while she is a worldly person who has travelled the world and got her p.h.d and even had a kid, transactions like this still make her feel uncomfortable. She is even more uncomfortable with the insinuation that she is gay.
"Oh no. It isn't anything like that." Brianna says as her face is still beat red. "She is my friend and tag team partner and as said, I am partially responsible for the poster boy for addictive personality started targeting her. Why does guy's mind suddenly go there when they find out women are close friends?"
"Because ma'am, when you are buying that person a car and care about someone so much ...you have to be gay for that person" The man said with a slight southern drawl. "It is just basic common sense."
Brianna shook her head as this scummy used car salesman continued to walk her through the lot of gorgeous cars. "So men can be blokes and buy each other tickets to the soccer game and hang out in a weird quartet of psychotic personalities while patting each other on the back for failing and those gents are considered hetrosexual but two women share a bond, they are automatically gay?
"Well yes. When guys do it, it is bonding, specifically when it is over sports. When girls do it, you know there has to be some kind of attraction there." The car salesman explains.
"While I do admit that we are easier on the eyes than the male figure, that is an ignorant and immature way to look at something that intimidates you: women behaving like people; women who have friendships outside of living for men. This is a concept that some men just can't understand." She pauses for a moment while stopping by an F150 but then shakes her head to continue her tour of the lot. She then looks back over at the car salesman. "When is the last time you have laid with a bird?"
"I don't think that is..." He began.
"And my sexual orientation is your business?" She asks before he finally answers her ashamed with his answer.
"Ten years." The salesman said with his head down. "I was married twice but each ended up cheating on me."
"Could that be because you had a dated opinion on the sexes? Maybe you expected them to be two dimensional and found ou that you were dealing with an actual person that was equal to yourself?" Brianna said he lead her into a 'junkier' area of the lot with slightly older cars from the eighties and nineties. Brianna felt that she was closer to what she was looking for.
"No, they were just sluts or dykes. I did nothing wrong."
"Of course you didn't love."Brianna begins as she sees something in the distance that dwarfs the other cars. She knows that she has found what she was looking for as she points to the monstrosity. "How many quid is that?"
"Ma'am, that is ..." The salesman begins but Brianna immediately cuts him off.
"I know what it is." She says with an excited smile on her face. "And I want it."
LATER
"Do you know what I think the issue with him is?" She says while looking at her reflection in her (sort of) newly won Central title. She is sitting with it and coming to terms with the fact for the here and now, it is hers. She undeniably has a responsibility to not only defend this title but build its legacy back up after giving it away to a man that only wanted it for self-esteem and decorative reasons. While she did have her reasons for giving it away, she cannot deny how insulting the act was and even more so how disappointing the man she gave it away to reaction was. She doesn't owe a debt to herself as much as the OCW and the Central United States for whom she represents ...though she doesn't know if they will appreciate a British woman being their model in OCW. But either way, she has committed herself to giving the prestige that it originally deserved though she feels no shame in her decision upon her original win. And she sits in a dirty driveway somewhere north of Orlando she contemplates the man she is giving her first defense to man that was supposed to be involved in the Blackout 2 main event.
The person she poses the question to sticks his head out of the hood Alice's "gift" and responds in a rather aggressive manner. "Woman, I do not know what you are talking about nor do I care." The Ring Announcer Belvadere attempts to go back to work on the gift but Brianna is already and ready to infect him with her upbeat positive attitude.
"Oh, come on now mate." Brianna says as she comes up next to him and tries to look at the engine that he is working on. She has no idea what in the hell he is doing so looks back at him. "This can be a proper bonding moment for us. Ring announcer and Central Champion getting to know each other. Come to think of it, no one knows a lot about you."
"And I would like to keep it that way." He says as he wipes grease off of his forehead. "I didn't even tell you that I had a background of car repair and I didn't even tell you my phone number ...but somehow you managed to contact me and goad me into fixing this lovely old thing with you. I am only doing this because you promised me an All You Can Eat steak dinner."
"Part of that deal was lively banter with one of your co-workers." She says why tilting her head and giving a purposely so adorable smile it made Belvedere want to puke.
Belvedere shakes his mustachioed head and gives into this persistent woman's pleas. "FINE! What is the issue with him of whom you speak of?"
"Of course I am speaking of my opponent for this week: Mr. Roach." She stops to place her central title on a nearby bench and then continues. "And his issue, besides the obvious, is that like Ian, he was given too much way too soon. But as oppose to Ian, he also got VERY lucky until he had to face myself and Alice Knight. He had opponents who, for the most part, have proved to be duds in this company. Besides Mario, his toughest challenge WAS the Lost Soul and that wasn't much of a wrestling match as it was a SAW film now was it?"
"Again, I assure you, I do not know. I get paid to call the matches." Belvedere says as continues to work under the hood of the car while also listening to her.
"Clearly, it was brutal and that isn't to say that I am not cautious getting in the ring with him ...but I have been getting the crap beat out of me since I arrived here and I am still standing. Ian Bishop threw everything he had at me be it steel rods, psychological warfare, and the always popular stable beatdown. None of that worked because he refused to just wrestle a regular wrestling match. It was about proving that was not inferior while every attempt he made proved that was indeed inferior. Now Roach is a bit different but not THAT much. He has won his share of wrestling matches, two of which were his specialty hardcore matches ...but the people he had pinfall victories over just couldn't last here. And when he did face someone who is in the upper echelons of talent such as his Son and my partner he has fell more than a little short. But he still has those early wins to continue to reinforce that everything he is doing is fine and in no way must he step up his game. And this is apparently the outlook of the whole Family who, with the exception of Sean Fuller, came out on the losing end out Blackout 2. There is nothing but extreme denial from The Family instead of a resolve to improve their all around ring performance. If they want to rule OCW, which I am going to prevent, then they need to actually look at what has been tripping them up. Both as a team and as individuals."
"Tell me more about this issue I have no concern over." Belvedere says from underneath the hood as she leans on the side of the gift.
"Of course, Mr. Belvedere." She begins.
"Do not call me that." He pokes his head from the car to convey that he is dead serious about that issue. NO ONE CALLS HIM MR.BELVEDERE!
"Of course." She says fully intending on calling him Mr. Belvedere anyways. "What I am saying is there is a difference from being optimistic and delusional. Roach, and it appears Ian, are very much the latter. That attitude does NOT win you titles or even matches as prove at Black Out 2. Refusing to believe that there is room for improvement when you are clearly failing at every attempt isn't the mindset of a mentally healthy person; it is the mindset of a straight up mental individual. And yes, I know it is the 'cool thing' to be in this industry. How many people have come through the doors of OCW claiming to be the most insane individual this company has ever seen. And if that works them that is fine. But this pattern of behaviors is clearly NOT benefitting Mr. Roachinson. Instead of actually facing the problem that he might need to, AT LEAST, sober up enough to see things the way they really are, he puts on this constant state of denial where him and his mates are NOT getting embarrassed on a weekly basis. It was all a fluke in his mind. Getting pinned twice by the same woman is a fluke? One of those times in your specialty match? His mate getting beat twice three, if you count the tag match, by the same woman after so many attempts to get the upper hand in all of those occasion is just a fluke? Your Don having a man carry him through the Lethal Lottery just to lose to him in dominant fashion is JUST a fluke?"
"Well, you do like to talk don't you?" Belvedere speaks as he moves his head out from under the hood and going to his tool box to grab a wrench.
"True." She says as she flips the cap off a bottle of water and takes a proper sip out of it. "But I always know how to watch and listen. Which, again, seems to be the major damage of Roach. There is a thing called facts and statistics and to deny them is to call everyone else crazy; to deny them is saying there is absolutely no order in the world and that reality is only defined in how each individual sees it. In thinking that way, I can convince myself I was the Queen England and when someone presented me with the paperwork and evidence that I was not, I could just say WHILE LOOKING AT SAID EVIDENCE that such things do not exist and expect people to not see me in a negative light. The facts do not lie. People do. They lie to themselves and anyone else who would listen."
She takes another swig of water before continuing as Belvedere tightens some screws in Alice Knight's mystery gift. "Now, after seeing that his tricks do not work; after seeing that his friend's tricks do not work ...he is going to step into the ring and challenge for the Central without any kind of alteration? He is just going to come into the ring like he usually does. He is going to go through the same pre-match routine of talking back and forth with his manager, then Ian on the phone, then his manager again ...but this time he is going to repeat himself over and over again so it seems like he is really thinking about this a lot but nope, he is just repeating himself to elongate things for himself. It could very well be those mental ---- that he smokes or maybe he just doesn't know the proper way to prepare for a title match. The fact is though that he got his ass handed to him because a woman had a plan going into her match while his plan was to merely drink beer and get stoned with goofy. NOW, he is given an opportunity, an opportunity that originally was taken away from him because of his own idiocy and reckless behavior. But none the less, he has that opportunity AGAIN after a tough loss and he besmirched the title, myself, the fans, and himself by saying the same thing he has been saying for weeks now? As much as I would like to believe that Roach has a good chance of defeating me ...I personally cannot see it. I come into every match like I am facing the most skilled and technical bloke I ever stepped into the ring with. Every match I fight is a title match ...and this month it very much is. It isn't about gold around my waist or glory but it is because even if titles are involved or not, I believe that this industry deserves one hundred percent all of the time. If you are not doing that, then what is the point of even being here?"
Belvedere slams the hood down on the present and looks at her with great frustration. "Okay, its done. But one thing, and I know I am going to hate myself for asking this but isn't this Roach guy the same person who wrecked your friends car?"
"Indeed" She ways while stepping away from the gift and up towards Belvedere.
"She got a victory over him right?" He raises an eyebrow to the very talkative Brit. She nods her head to verify this fact. "Then the issue is all done, why buy her a car? Especially when she has almost the same habits as Roach if not worse?"
"Firstly," She says while grabbing her central title and slinging it over her shoulder. "I am the very reason that The Family targeted her in the first place and took out her car. I owe her something and I got a fairly nice bonus for the title win, both times, and am still making money as an on-call psychologist. But more importantly, this is a message for Roach. Nothing him or his family can do to people is irreparable. Everything they can take away from us can be replaced ...usually with something even better. The only thing that people like him have to hold onto is their victories and he didn't have THAT at the end of their dispute. This is a symbol that he has accomplished absolutely nothing over the last month or so. And about this poppycock of Alice being a worse addict than Roach? She is in a tough place; out on the streets and having to starve. I don't like it and maybe we can help that over time but she is clearly someone who lacks from self-esteem and KNOWS in someway that what she is doing is unhealthy. This is going on while Roach is living like a Millionaire and able to buy all the weed and alcohol he can afford and just indulging in it unashamed for the world to see. He lets it be his life fuel; he lets it be his arrogance."
As she finishes speaking, she realizes that Belvedere has already walked a bit away towards his car. He yells back to her as she holds her Central title. "Sorry, that I asked. Now buy me my steak."
LATER
There is a loud honk from outside Alice's motel room. She is asleep and does not pay attention to it at first ...but jerks awake after about five honks. She drapes her blanket around her and steps outside of the room to yell at whoever is honking at her ...but instead her mouth is wide open as she sees who is driving this vehicle. Brianna steps out of the 97 model RV camper complete with bed, shower, plumbing hook up and an installed flat screen television. Alice has no idea what to say as Brianna, with a smile on her face, tosses her the keys.
"I think it is the morphine" Alice says from her hospital bed next to her tag team partner. "Or maybe it is because LOVE surrounds all of us right now. You are so pretty" Alice then burst into laughter herself.
"You are pretty too. You are so beautiful. You are like an angel. A beautiful homeless, kind of dirty angel." "What are we laughing about?" Alice raises her eyebrow.
"I haven't the foggiest love." Brianna says still chuckling from her hospital bed as she moves her head ...but then a sharp pain hits her ...as she realized that she had just been beaten with a metal. "Oh that stings."
