A cold and lonely night that was filled with darkness, grim and despair. The beautiful orange hue of the warm fire that could be seen was our main focal point. A bonfire was where we were and sitting around it was OCW Superstar, Drew Stevenson who had his head lowered and is currently in some deep thought after what transpired at Massacre when Damian Payne; Stevenson’s tag team partner for the huge upcoming match for the tag team championships turned on him after their match and floored him with a huge lariat after Stevenson made the big man tap out. This wasn’t setting well with Stevenson but there wasn’t anything that he could do other than to bite the bullet, swallow his pride and move on to bigger and better things hoping that Payne becomes a team player which is beginning to look pretty grim after what happened at Massacre.
As the flames from the bonfire was crackling and popping, the orange hue reflects off of the tender, white flesh of the wrestling veteran as he just stares into the fire that has captured his attention, the sound of his deep toned voice trailing off out into the distance but it was heard loud and clear.
Drew, “Things just keep getting worse and worse, don’t they? At last week’s Massacre? Damian Payne, my tag team partner heading into Black Out 2 decided to level me after our match and I’m not going to ask why Damian because I already know why – you don’t handle losing very well and most certainly not by tap out but that is just how the ball rolls sometimes and you were the man standing across from me on that given night and well, unfortunately for you Damian – I was the better man and I hope that you can get off your period and see us as a tag team because this is our chance to shine, this is our opportunity to make our impact here in OCW and either you’re in or you’re out but regardless; I’ll be walking into Black Out 2 with every intention on winning and if I have to go at it by myself then I will but hopefully you’ll drop that little attitude that you have going on and let bygones be bygones.”
Pausing and gathering his thoughts, he keeps his brown eyes peeled onto the beautiful rhythmic flame that is mesmerizing.
Drew, “Now as we move on to Black Out 2, my first pay per view here in OCW – I realize that on my end, things are not looking too good and that is because I believe that my partner and I are the only two who are having issues and hell; we weren’t even really a blip on their radar to begin with but you know what? That’s not necessarily a bad thing because that means that we are flying right under the radar, something that I’m not used to but definitely something that I’ll capitalize off of when the opportunity presents itself and I know that it will eventually present itself. You see, there are five other tag teams also looking to become the OCW Tag Team Champions and I know that every team here in this company is licking their chops at the opportunity to become the best damn tag team in wrestling today and that is the drive that I needed to make sure that I go out there, put on a five star classic and find a way to add ten extra pounds onto myself at Black Out 2.”
Taking in a deep breath, he shifts his body to the left facing the camera. Bringing his knee in towards his chest, he places his clasped hands on top of his knee and continues to speak.
Drew, “Throughout the years, tag team wrestling has taken a huge hit sadly but once upon a time? It was right up there as close to an equal with the World Heavyweight Championships. See, that is what I want to bring back to the business; the pure sport of tag team wrestling – two people working together and being so in sync that you better work together to beat the champs or you can bet your bottom dollar that you will not make it out as the winner. I’ll be honest with everybody, I was excited when I heard that the tag team Championships were being brought in and I was like a kid at a candy store when I was notified that I was being given such a huge opportunity and as I get prepared for such a huge, career defining moment – well, you best believe that I’ll be bringing the proverbial thunder to Black Out 2 because it has been a good long while since I have had championship gold wrapped around my waist and I’m not passing up on the opportunity to etch my name into the history books...”
Shaking his head, he looks incredibly determined and focused.
Drew, “... Oh no, I know that all five of the other teams have the same common goal in mind and I respect that but I’m also not going to let a single soul step in and stop me from making history because as I stated earlier, with or without the help of Damian Payne – I am walking into Black Out 2 as the underdog, as the man that nobody really thinks will win and I’ll swoop in with a smile on my face as that old radar suddenly begins to go off like crazy because of the fact that the “new” guy just blindsided everybody and left every single person in this match stunned and speechless when he became the OCW Tag Team Champions.”
With the fire crackling and letting out a loud pop, he flashes that trademarked Stevenson smile tilting his head to the left slowly and gathering his thoughts. Pausing only momentarily, he then breaks the silence and continues to speak regarding his huge upcoming match-up at Black Out 2.
Drew, “I am like this beautiful fire here. I am calm, warm, and I offer you peace and solitude but only until I am fueled and then I become bigger, hotter, and I rise up to consume every single person who looks to deny me the OCW Tag Team Championships. I look out and I see nothing but a sea of doubt, I see nothing but all eyes turned away from me because of the fact that the competition is so stiff in this match that not a soul believes that myself and Damian stands a chance and THAT is the driving force that will push me to be bigger, badder and better than I have ever been before. To all of you in this match, whether you are new here, old here, or are a Legend here? It makes no difference to me because I am leaving the respect that I have for all of you at the gorilla curtain and I am stepping into that ring to become one half of the OCW Tag Team Champions and much like a white hot fire?”
Looking directly into the camera, the look stretched along his face shows a determination that very few men truly ever possess throughout their careers. With his eyes narrowing, the camera slowly and dramatically pans in on his face as suddenly the once orange hue that reflects off of his flesh burns higher, brighter, and hotter as it turns white.
Drew, “You can’t contain me and you won’t put me out!”
With the fire immediately going out putting everything into complete darkness, nothing but the sound of peaceful nature can be heard.
A nice, quiet, peaceful fade.
