~The scene opens on a picnic area on North Maurako Island. North Maurako Island is the Island that is off the coast of Maine, and is where all the Children under the age of eighteen, and the elderly the age of sixty-five and over reside. On this Island the kids roam free and enjoy what is essentially a giant theme park like Six Flags Great America. The Elderly are there to assist the children with their daily needs and operate the rides, and do all the responsible stuff. It’s not great work, but it is easier than the life of eighteen to sixty-four year olds.
At the picnic area dozens of kids are gathered around the picnic tables, their eyes fixated on King Mario as he tells them a great tale called “The Tale of the Three Brothers”. The kids are entranced and hanging on to every word as King Mario speaks.~
Mario: There once were three brothers named Solomon, Judas & Samson. Solomon was the oldest of the brothers. He was a smart and powerful man, but also naive when it came to the love and trust he felt towards his brothers. Judas was the middle child, and he was greedy and a hypocrite. That left Samson as the youngest; he was the greatest athlete of the brothers, and he would be the first to let you know about it too.
One day the three brothers moved away from their homes, and their families, and started life anew on Maurako Island. Every day they would get up and go to work to help the Kingdom achieve its destiny of expansion. They would work together, dine together, and live together.
Over time, the greedy Judas began to resent his life on the island. He started spending more time watching others work than doing any work himself. He began to notice Thomas, and Judas decided that Thomas wasn’t working as hard as everyone else. This infuriated Judas.
Judas would spend hours of every day watching Thomas and nitpicking what Thomas was or wasn’t doing. Then every night Judas would whine and complain to Solomon & Samson about the injustices being done. Then Samson would get worked up and be ready to fight, and Solomon would have to be the voice of reason and unify the brothers once more on a more peaceful mindset. As the days passed, Samson began “seeing” Thomas in the same light as Judas. Then every night Solomon would listen to Samson and Judas recant the day and talk all about all the work Thomas hadn’t been doing.
Truth be told, not everyone on the island had the same job. You see, while Solomon, Judas & Samson were working towards the expansion of Maurako Island, Thomas was assigned to the farming division. Thomas was in charge of keeping inventory of the animals on the Island, breeding, and butchering. So what looked like laziness to Judas, was really Thomas fulfilling the roles of his obligations.
One day, while the brothers were working Samson noticed the King of Maurako Island was walking their way. The three brothers ramped up their efforts as the King walked passed. The King stopped and then he thanked the three brothers for the work they had completed so far, which had been marginal. Then the King continued along. Judas looked on as the King walked over to Thomas. The King and Thomas appeared to converse for several minutes, and then the King hugged Thomas, and Judas turned green with envy.
That night Judas stayed up stewing over what he had seen. As had been accustomed, he called out to his brothers and proceeded to complain about Thomas. Now even Solomon was giving in to the feeling of enviousness towards Thomas, because Solomon had worked very hard every day and received only a “Thank You” from the King. That night Samson formed a plan to kill Thomas, which was agreed upon by his brothers.
When work was finishing up for the following day the brothers put into action Samson’s plan. They waited until Thomas was making his rounds and checking that all the animals made it into the barn and that it was locked. But when Thomas came up on the barn he found the doors open. Thomas entered the barn to investigate the abnormality and Samson struck him in the head with a large rock, crushing his skull and killing him within moments. The brothers then dumped Thomas’s body in with the mules in hopes that it would be believed to be an accident.
The next morning the King’s Guards were doing their rounds and discovered that Thomas was missing from his post. A search of his cabin was performed and his bed was found to be made. Thomas was either the make your bed every morning type of guy, or he hadn’t slept in his bed the night prior. The search continued, and a few hours later Thomas’s body was found. The King called for a halt in labor and the clergy, Reverend Jeffrey James, was sought to perform a funeral after Doctor Phillips examined the body.
By the following morning word had started to spread across the Island that Thomas hadn’t died by some mule kick, but rather that a murder had been committed. It was fairly easy to figure out because in all the hustle and bustle, the brothers had forgotten to dispose of the bloody rock that was used to cave Thomas’s skull inward.
At lunch time Judas began to feel remorse over the murder, and he confessed to the King’s Guards. Solomon, Judas & Samson were then swiftly wrangled up and tossed into the King’s Dungeon to await the King’s Verdict.
~King Mario slaps his hands down on both of his thighs and stands up, very proud of the story that he’s told the children of North Maurako Island. He takes in the several faces on the kids, ranging from disbelief, to shock, to even horror. The King turns to walk away from ‘story hour’ when one of the kids calls out to him.~
Kid #1: King Mario, whatever happened to the three brothers?
~Mario stops and turns back and eyeballs the kid. Mario decides that the kid looks to be eleven or twelve years old, not that he intended to do anything useful with that information.~
Mario: Well I just said; they are awaiting the King’s Verdict.
Kid #2: Well aren’t you the King in the story?
Mario: Indeed I am.
Kid #1: So what are you going to do?
~Mario’s face lit up with joy, as he has a simply marvelous idea.~
Mario: Say, would you boys and girls like to come along to my Dungeon and we can let the brothers learn of their fate together?
~The kids love this idea as they scream, jump, yell, and express all kinds of excitement. King Mario motions for them to follow him and they make their way off from the picnic area. We fade out.~
~We fade in on the King’s Dungeon, where Solomon, Judas & Samson are all chained to the walls and in various states of despair. But the King’s Jester, Harold “The Jester” Jones, is there to cheer them up.~
Harold: What do you call the virgin Mary in a sex dungeon?
~Harold pauses to allow an answer from the brothers but they have other things on their mind.~
Harold: Miracle Whip!
~Harold pauses again to allow for some laughter, or applause, or anything for that matter. But instead he just gazes upon the three lowly brothers.~
Harold: Alright, let’s try something to get your minds out of the dungeon. How do you know which house in the neighborhood belongs to Silver Cyanide?
~Harold starts cackling before he can even get the punchline out and the three brothers are still unamused.~
Harold: It’s the one missing the 4th wall!
~Harold falls onto the dungeon floor laughing hysterically as his kicks and slaps the floor. After a few seconds he begins to settle down, only to discover that he’s the only one laughing.~
Harold: Jeesh guys, it’s just a dungeon, there’s no need to lose your heads here.
~Harold pauses, realizes what he just said, and begins laughing hysterically again. He abruptly stops when he hears coming footsteps and he darts to a dark corner of the dungeon. The door opens up and in walks King Mario, Sir Martino, and 20 of the kids. The kids all line up single file as Sir Martino walks around to Solomon, Judas & Samson and unlocks their chains. They could try to make a run for it, but Sir Martino would have them dead before they even reached the door. Instead the three brothers kneel at the King’s feet.~
Mario: Before we proceed, is there anything that you three would like to say for yourselves.
Solomon: We are guilty your majesty.
Mario: Vile, impious wretches! Despicable villains! reflect with horror on the atrocity of your crime! Hold up your heads, and hear your sentence.
~Mario shakes his head in disgust before mentally preparing to continue. He walks with purpose and paces in front of the three kneeling brothers. Mario stops in front of Samson, and Sir Martino moves to stand directly behind Samson, and draws his sword ready to strike at a moments notice.~
Mario: Samson, you have been found guilty… of reminding me of Paul Paras. You both could do anything, but you let negative forces bring you down. In your case, your brother Judas and your unwillingness to listen to your wise brother Solomon.
Samson: So what is the punishment for reminding you of Paul Paras?
Mario: Death.
~Sir Martino raises the sword high into the air and starts to swing it down towards Samson’s neck. Mario reaches up and grabs Martino’s arm, stopping him from delivering the death blow.~
Mario: A wise man once said “The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword.”
~Sir Martino nods and returns his sword to his sheath. Mario reaches out his hand to Samson who looks at it and then slowly reaches for it. Mario helps Samson up to his feet, and in one fluid motion hoists him up into the air in a torture rack position. Mario then sends Samson feet over head and as Samson falls towards the ground Mario brings up his right knee and lands a thunderous knee to Samson who collapses on the stone floor of the dungeon. Mario stands there and watches Samson as he lays on the floor unconscious. After several seconds pass, the King moves on and stands in front of the kneeling Judas.~
Mario: Judas, it is time for you to face the King’s verdict.
Judas: I don’t want to die.
Mario: You are scum. Your negativity and short sightedness cost Thomas his life, and cost Samson his life. You are found guilty of reminding me of Silver Cyanide. You fabricated stories about Thomas and eventually turned your brothers on him and had him killed. You didn’t even have the guts to do it yourself, you had your brother Samson do it. Now arise and face the King’s verdict.
~Judas sobs as he rises to his feet. King Mario grabs Judas by the arm and spins him around and hooks Judas’ arms in a full nelson position. Mario then hoists Judas high into the air and then on his way down Mario drives his knee into Judas’ back causing a loud crack to be heard. Judas falls to the floor and writhes in pain. King Mario then turns, and looks to the kneeling Solomon, who has kept his head turned down to the floor the entire time since proclaiming the brother’s guilt. King Mario walks over and stands in front of Solomon.~
Mario: Solomon, you are guilty of reminding me of myself.
~Solomon picks his head up and looks up to his King.~
Solomon: That can’t be true your majesty.
Mario: It is. You're a great man Solomon, but you hung around with garbage. Your biggest flaw was loving and caring for your brothers. You should’ve removed yourself from their company long ago and not allowed them to hold you back. Arise Solomon.
~Solomon rises to his feet and is shocked when King Mario gives him a hug. The two break off form their hug and Mario places his hands on Solomon’s shoulders, and then drives his knee into Solomon’s midsection. Solomon bends over in pain, clutching his abdomen.~
Mario: Your punishment, is death.
~King Mario hooks Solomon’s arm between his legs and then lifts him up and drives him down with a pump handle full nelson driver. The back of Solomon’s head makes a sickening thud on the stone floor. The King rises back to his feet, and wipes off the dirt from the floor. Blood seeps from Solomon’s skull unto the dungeon floor. The children have watched all this in complete shock, and have been frozen in fear.~
Mario: Thank you Solomon for making me realize I needed to reinvent myself to defeat my so called brothers. Martino, take their heads back to South Maurako Island. Put them on display for all to know what happens when you violate the King’s Law.
Sir Martino: I thought you wanted to swing the sword?
Mario: No, that just sounded cool.
~King Mario turns back and sees the twenty kids. He has a complete facial expression change and now looks happy, and he smiles.~
Mario Maurako: Now, who wants some ice cream?
~The end.~
