“Sometimes even I wonder why I left this place, all that bullshit in America doesn’t often seem worth it.”
Danny B is seen to be sitting on a pebbled beach, his golden hair illuminated by the glow of the sun in the twilight sky. He is wrapped in a trench coat, one that slips back to reveal a bandaged wrist as he lifts his right arm up to take a drag on a cigarette. The camera pans out to see a broken down steel frame of a former landmark, and bustling bright and colourful pier, and a busy lit up promenade, to those who don’t recognise it, this was Brighton Beach, Danny B had come home.
“I always make a point of coming back once a month you know, to see my family. But there is something else really, this is the only place I can truly relax. No butlers, no bloody press, no mansion, no nothing. Just me and my thoughts.”
Danny takes another deep drag on his smoke, looking out at the small cascading waves that roll in front of him.
“I guess I shall address the elephant in the room now, I didn’t make good on my promise, and I didn’t win that Battle Royal. I’m not a sore loser, I have said that before, and I want to extend my greatest congratulations to Kenshin Takamura. He deserved it so well done to him. Also, I would like to state that, even though some seem to think that I will hunt down the people that eliminated me, I do not hold grudges, MJ, Chris Knight and Kenshin did well to get rid of me, although may I point out that it took four of them, but still, that was that.
No, I have to look forward to the future, and the immediate future is a match with Roach this coming week. Roach is a challenge there is no denying that, he is rolling a huge wave of momentum this week after downing that creep at Ressurection, and I have to say that he obviously thinks that he is gonna carry that momentum straight through me this week.
Roach buddy, you have skills, a big guy with a lot of strength, and you have a pretty fucking good record here too. I have to say you are a pretty impressive character buddy, something that I think I will enjoy working with. I have to ask though, with all that power, how do you think you’ll reckon in a straight up wrestling match?
You may have been made aware that I am a clever wrestler, I rely on my brain far more than any other attribute, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have said attributes, yes I well know that I will lose in a power match, and OCW experience is in your corner. But I am certainly quicker than you, and I feel that my mat skills may just put you to shame; it will be tough taking on someone in a power game when you cannot stand up.”
Danny takes the last drag of his smoke, lifts up his leather boot, squishes it against the sole, and throwing it amongst the pebbles.
“Roach, take this structure in front of me.”
Danny looks up, towards the sea.

“That used to be the West Pier, a great landmark here in Brighton. It once stood tall and proud. Now admittedly it was shut down before I was even born, but the real disaster came a decade ago. It was set on fire, taking away the shell that remained of the former magnificent structure, and left just the bare skeleton, which now not only doesn’t do such a magnificent piece of architecture justice, it has also made it weaker, allowing future damage to completely rip it to shreds. It will never be what it once was, it will never be magnificent again.
So what am I getting at? Well if I need to explain it you really are denser than I thought and I feel like I may have an easy time here. Simply Roach, for you, I am that blaze, I will storm though you this coming week, I will rip your tough exterior from you, exposing the soft inner frame. And when I am done with you, you will never be the same again, you’ll be a weak cowering mess, ready for the pickings. People often underestimate me, they think that because they are bigger, stronger, or more experienced that I should be a nice warm up for their next challenge, whether you stand to think that or not Roach remains to be seen, but for your sakes I hope you don’t. Otherwise this epic match that I am expecting to put on will be nothing more than a massacre for you.”
Danny stands up, taking one last glancing look at the ocean before turning his back on it and climbing up the beach. It may have only been a Tuesday night, but that doesn’t stop Brighton from being crawling with drunken students stumbling along the seafront, falling in and out of pubs and clubs. Danny smirks as he remembers the days of doing that himself. He takes to the stairs, and a minutes later finds himself skulking along the promenade, heading down towards the more active of Brighton’s two piers, the aptly named Brighton Pier.
“You know all in all it seems I have made a few enemies so far in OCW, that comes as no shock to me as you well know, but Gavin Reed, that son of a bitch needs to toe the line a little. People are asking me why I came down to the ring after that match, and yes, I have my reason, but no I am not telling anyone. All that really needs to be said on that matter is that I hope Noah knows what he is doing, because taking me out is a mistake, maybe I was planning on roughing up his boy toy a little, but anyone with smarts would know that taking me out is never a good idea, I am pretty good at making people’s lives hell, I hope you enjoy your match this coming week Noah, just keep in mind that the shadows are watching you.
Speaking of picking your fights carefully, a certain Sean Fuller seems to have made me his target too. Now that was just plain stupid. It seems as though Sean is missing a few commodities, I will deal with you when the time comes Sean, and you will come to realise that you are nothing more than a bug that needs squishing. Face me in the ring Sean, and I will try not to kill you, try.”
Danny continues on past the entrance of the pier, and past the guards that are starting to turn away drunken fools. Again a smirk creeps across the face of Ripper as he reaches a crossing, and crosses over to the famous Sea Life centre.
“Wish this place was open this time of night, would be a nice place to chill, don’t really know where I am headed anyways, I just like walking my home town, its familiar, it feels right. Familiarity is something that is important to me, which is exactly why I know that I am gonna trample over OCW soon, because that’s what I do.”
The streets around Ripper are getting more and more busy with those heading for a night out, some heading towards the smaller pubs and bars, and some heading straight to the nightclubs. Danny walks past one of the more famous gay bars in the city, Charles Street, lit in its usual rainbow colours; Danny looks up at the illuminated building and decides to step inside for a drink. He makes his way to the bar without incident, and manages to order his favourite tipple, Amaretto and coke, surprisingly quickly. The Ripper makes his way back through the crowd and out towards the designated smoking area. He sits in a far corner, lights himself another smoke and sits, looking out at the street before him.
“This is where I cut my teeth, I called this city home exclusively until only four years ago, and it will never be anything but home. I said before that I felt like I was going to do well because all I know is domination, Ok, well I am paraphrasing. But the point is, this week carries some and yet no significance. Eating a guy with the experience and record of Roach is all well and good, but I have a lot more to look forward too.
I may explain the situation with Amber Ryan, and why I chose her in time, but that doesn’t come along this week, I have a bug that I cannot wait to step on, the man is as disgusting as his namesake, it becomes my job this week to crush his momentum.
Don’t think that I haven’t got my attention on you Roach, just because I have so much else going on, most of which you would have no idea about, doesn’t mean that you aren’t the first thing on my mind at the moment. This week is your week fella, your week to find out why they call me the Ripper. If you’re not sure going in, just ask the headliner, if you can find him.”
Danny sips down some more of his drink, looking out at the world, someone approaches the table, causing Danny to turn his attention, without turning his head of course. He watches through his peripheral vision as the guy comes across, looks to speak, and then just takes the chair from the other end of the table. Danny’s phone vibrates in his pocket, he removes it and looks at the message he was sent.
“Ah, well what do you know, my trusty advisers have gotten hold of some material from Roach this week, this should be worth a look!”
The phone picture flashes to an image of the disgusting mask that Roach calls a face, Ripper watches intently…
