SCENE 1
In an impressive display of athleticism, Kenshin Takamura had eliminated Alexis Terry to cap off outlasting thirteen out wrestlers to become the Number One Contender to the ocw Internet Championship. It had been quite a grueling match with outrageous spots in it. Many of those spots had come from his friend, MJ Bell. In the end though, he had to eliminate her, but MJ had understood that and why he did it. She would have done the samething given the opportunity. In fact, she almost succeeded in an opportunity she had during the Battle Royal. After a drawn out celebration in the ring, Kenshin made his way to the back to get cleaned up and dressed before the match between Noah Mackenzie and Dangerous Dan. There was no way he was going to miss a golden opportunity to scout out his opponent for the March 3rd Monday Night Massacre main event.
After a relaxing shower, Takamura checked his messages on his phone and his tweets on Twitter. It seemed as though there was a bit of a trend with #TsunamiWarning going on. It gave the Japanese wrestler a bit of pride to see that he was still relevant in the wrestling world despite being in such a small promotion. After he mentioned his win in a tweet, he headed out toward the Gymnasium area so he could see the match between his two possible opponents. He stayed backstage as he watched, but had pushed some curtains out of his way so he could watch from afar, taking in each risk they took; each move they executed. They fought hard and desperately, but, in the end, with a little help, Noah Mackenzie pulled off the win. Kenshin silently took note that he might have to deal with some company once Massacre rolled around. He didn't mind at all.
At the end of the match, MJ Bell tweeted him. She offered a celebratory night to him. Karaoke and alcohol. A classic combination. Obliging on the offer, Kenshin went to meet them out in the parking lot after the match, meeting her brother, Finn, for the first time. He had heard a lot about the guy, but still had yet to make his acquaintance. They had known each mere minutes and were already cuddled up to one another in the cab of MJ's little pick-up truck. When they arrived at the bar, Kenshin sat back and enjoyed some drinks on MJ. Yes, she was buying tonight.
Takamura's eyes glanced up at the karaoke stage just in time to see MJ getting ready to sing in front of a full house. She did a wonderful rendition of "Young And Beautiful." She sang the song pretty well despite being well under the influence of alcohol. Kenshin knew even sober he couldn't sing a single note. There was a reason he was a professional wrestling, not a rockstar.
As he sat back at the bar, there were a few females who gave Kenshin the eyes, but he wasn't really there to take an strange women home. Not tonight. His vision turned to back to Finn Bell, he gave the other man a grin before speaking.
Kenshin Takamura: "It seems MJ isn't just a good wrestler. I can't even sing when I am sober. She is pulling it off while she is well into a night of drinking."
Both men were still turned toward MJ as she sang, looking at them every now and then as if she believed that they would leave at any moment, but they stayed. While watching her sing, Finn answered Kenshin.
Finn Bell: "She's always had a split allegiance between performing music and wrestling. Our uncle taught us to wrestle, but the singing just came naturally to her."
Kenshin's eyes shifted from Finn over to MJ, catching her looking in their direction once more. He gave her a friendly smirk as he spoke to Finn once more.
Kenshin Takamura: "She's definitely causing some ripples in OCW. I don't think anyone in that Battle Royal expected her to perform as well as she did. She was definitely a highlight of that match."
Finn nodded with a small smile on his face. Her wrestling skills was a testament to everything she did in her life. She never did anything half-assed.
Finn Bell: "That reminds me. Congratulations on the big win."
Kenshin Takamura: "Thank you very much. Your sister was quite a pain in the ass in that Battle Royal."
Finn Bell: "I wouldn't have expected anything less from her. She is a Bell after all. This is your night though. Besides if she would've won, she wouldn't be singing right now. Any idea who you're facing next Monday?"
Kenshin took long drink of the beer that was in front of him. It seemed like the two men were on cue with each other because Finn did as well.
Kenshin Takamura: "Noah Mackenzie. I was watching the match between Noah Mackenzie and Dangerous Dan before MJ tweeted me. I was able to get an idea of what I might be able to expect next week. It seems I might have an issue with some outside interference."
Finn Bell: "So you'll have to have eyes in the back of your head..."
Kenshin Takamura: "Indeed."
The two men's eyes met out of the corner of their eyes for just one moment as if they had an understanding. Kenshin nodded as they both looked back up to Finn's sister on the stage, still singing.
"I can't say I am that worried about it. Gavin will be making a huge mistake if he decides to interfere in my match next Monday. If he does, he is officially in the match and I will make him wonder why he hadn't stayed here in Kansas."
Finn took a swig of his beer as MJ finished up her song. The whole bar gave her quite the standing ovation. There were men in the bar that were giving her the old cat call. Finn glared in the direction they had come from. Silently, Kenshin noted that they would be getting in a fight over MJ tonight. MJ made her way back to the bar, she tucked a strand of red behind her ear. Finn flashed a forced smile in her direction.
MJ Bell: "Okay, I need a drink. "
Finn Bell: "That was awesome."
MJ reached over to smack the back of her brother's head before she took her seat next to Kenshin. She ordered another drink and finished the one she left then pushed it away from her.
MJ Bell: " Okay, Kenshin it's your turn to get up there."
Takamura's eyes connected with MJ's own for a moment as a smirk appeared on his face. He picked up his beer bottle and downed the rest of the alcoholic liquid contained inside. He stood up and gave one last look to MJ.
Kenshin Takamura: "Well, a promise is a promise."
With that, Kenshin walked up to the DJ to request his song. Once the DJ had the song ready, Takamura took his place up on the stage, pulling the microphone up to his lips as he did. The opening piano notes to "Don't Stop Believing" began as Kenshin swayed a little to the music.
SCENE 2
The scene opened up to Kenshin Takamura once again on a bus, traveling. The wobbly nature of the video feed told us that he was, once again, utilizing his smart phone for this promo. Based on what little bit we could see, Kenshin was clad in a New Japan Pro-Wrestling hoodie. We couldn't see anything else aside from that though.
Kenshin Takamura: "Sunday night, we witnessed the re-emergence of a once great wrestling organization with a successful and aptly named Pay-Per-View, Resurrection. The event opened up with one of the most intense matches of my life. I have fought in singles matches, hardcore matches, ladders matches, even Japanese Deathmatches, but none had wrestlers that were so driven as last night. I could feel the urge to win from each competitor in that match. Almost everyone in that match deserved a championship, but only one could prevail. I was the one. I prevailed over thirteen other wrestlers to get the opportunity to fight the winner of Noah Mackenzie and Dangerous Dan at Massacre for the OCW Internet Championship."
The camera of his smart phone shook a bit, but centered once more on his face.
"Both of you fought your hearts out, putting your wrestling skills on the line for the crowd, but Dan was fated to lose. Mackenzie wasn't bother one bit about taking the easy way. The dishonorable way. I have dealt with many just like you, Mackenzie. In fact, I just dealt with someone you could probably associate with, Lou Bruno. Where is he now after I taught him a lesson? Let me answer that for you, he's on a hiatus. He was given time off courtesy of Kenshin Takamura. How would you like a vacation, Mackenzie?"
The Japanese wrestler paused for a moment to allow his words to sink in. A smirk appeared on his visage, putting off an air of confidence from the fighter.
"Mackenzie, bring Gavin Reed, your friends, and your family. You can come with all of them. You can have a family reunion in the ring just so I can prove to you that you are not destined to win the Internet Championship. I am. I am going to warn you right now though, Noah, get your mind off Danny B during the time that we're going head-to-head because I want your all. I don't want you coming back later on down the road complaining about how my win wasn't fair due you and Danny B having a grudge against one another. Mackenzie..."
Kenshin's jawline visibly tightened as he paused after saying Noah's name.
"Consider yourself warned of the impending tsunami headed your way."
The camera shook once more before the scene cut to black, leaving only "#TsunamiWarning" across the screen. After a few seconds, that too cut to black...
