SCENE 1
The traveling had begun to get tedious for Kenshin Takamura after the fifteen hour flight from Tokyo, Japan to Atlanta, Georgia, but that hadn't been it for his travels because he had to get to Minnesota so he would be in the same state as OCW Monday Night Massacre. Kenshin wanted to be able to just relax until Massacre would air so he figured he would get all of the flying out of the way. That has no bearing on this story though.
When Kenshin had his first phone conference with Mister Dean for contract negotiations, they spoke about the possibility of Takamura investing in Online Championship Wrestling. It was Kenshin's intention to help the company take the next step, but he wanted to actually be able to meet with Mister Dean in person before they would come to a final decision. And so the second meeting took place over the phone after Kenshin arrived in Minnesota. They then planned to have their final face-to-face conference about their ideas tonight, Friday, February 14, 2014.
Kenshin Takamura was dressed up quite nicely. One always needed to have a professional appearance when meeting up with the boss about business ideas. He was clad in a nice, black, pin-stripe, three piece suit. His tie was decked out in purple and silver diagonal stripes. As he turned the knob to the door and entered the conference room, his eyes immediately cued in to President Dean who was relaxing in the head chair of the table, but not for long, because as the Japanese wrestler entered, he was met halfway by the President of OCW in a handshake.
President Dean: "How ya' doin', sucka'? Finally, we meetin' face-to-face!"
For the most part, Kenshin controlled any emotions he might show either than a slight smirk on his face.
"Please, have a seat and let's talk."
Kenshin Takamura: "Ah, you are a busiinessman first and foremost, Dean. That is good. That's why I think you are going to love the news I have for you today."
Takamura took a seat at the conference table, shortly followed by Dean sitting. After getting comfortable, Kenshin placed a manilla folder on the table and slid it in front of Dean. Without wasting any time, Dean picked up the folder and immediately began leafing though whatever papers populated the inside of the folder.
"So, Dean, as you're seeing in that folder, Sony has a wide variety of electronics that would be useful to OCW, including a titan tron, a state-of-the-art sound system, and, through another company, a pyrotechnics computer system."
With each item Kenshin spoke about, Dean's grin only widened more and more. He almost looked like The Grinch with some devious plans. Well, they would have been if entertaining a crowd was a devious thing.
"As I stated when we last spoke, I am more than happy to fund this whole ordeal."
Dean's eyes rose above the folder as Kenshin made his intentions clear, well, sort of. A trouble look crossed Dean's face as he watched his Japanese employee. Kenshin showed no signs of joking about his declaration.
President Dean: "See, dat's what I don't understand, Kenshin. Why would ya' fund dis shit? What's innit fo' ya'?"
Takamura didn't answer immediately. Instead, he just watched Dean's expression.
Kenshin Takamura: "Before you can understand these intentions, you need to be able to understand why I am here in OCW in the first place. I turned down a multi-million dollar a year contract from New Japan Pro-Wrestling to come to an indy league wrestling organization. Why, in my right mind, would I do that? Maybe it's because I believe in your cause. I believe in what you are trying to accomplish here. You have ideas that need to be conveyed to a crowd of willing fans. You have a product that needs to be broadcasted to millions, but, right now, you do not have the kind of publicity you need. I want to help you get that publicity."
President Dean continued to nod as he followed along with what Kenshin was saying. It seemed to make sense. Could there have been some alterior motives? One could never really know, but if Kenshin was willing to pay for high tech electronics for Online Championship Wrestling, why stop him?
President Dean: "Well, Kenshin, ya' got my attention."
Kenshin Takamura: "Good to know. You see, I have a cousin that is quite the top businessman for Sony Corporation, and he can actually get me various electronics for better prices than we'll ever see available online or in-store. Also, he has a connection with a pyrotechnics company which I've already gotten in touch with. The electronics are already sitting at the ready to be ordered. You just need to give me the okay to start the transaction. Sign the contract I've provided in that folder. That's the same one I sent to you so your lawyers could go over it, but feel free to read through it again. Notice, my only intention is to own a certain amount of shares of the company provided it does grow significantly bigger."
After a few moments of scanning through the contract once more, President Dean signed the bottom line and slid the contract over to Kenshin who closed the folder and moved it aside.
"Do you have any further questions or comments?"
President Dean's eyes scanned Kenshin's expression. It seemed almost expressionless.
President Dean: "Yeah, ain't ya' got a match to prepare for, sucka'?"
Kenshin Takamura: "As a matter of fact, I do so, if you will excuse me, Dean. I am going to take my leave now."
The President of OCW nodded as he stood up from his chair and bowed to the Japanese wrestler, who bowed back lower. Afterward, Takamura turned on his heels and walked out of the conference room with no so much as one more word.
SCENE 2
The camera shot opened up to a quiet dojo. There was only one person in the dojo, Kenshin Takamura. He was standing in the middle of the dojo floor with his hands together in a meditative position. His head was slightly bowed with his eyes clothes gently. A peaceful aura resonated from his muscular form. Did he even realize the camera was there? Surely he hadn't forgotten that he had asked the cameraman to come to that specific place. Suddenly, he began to speak with a relax, controlled tone to his voice.
Kenshin Takamura: "Relaxation, meditation, and stretching. Three important things that most professional wrestlers write off as something women do. When they neglect such things though, injuries will inevitably happen. Inevitably..."
Kenshin slowly moved his hands away from one another as he steadily inhaled, his hands raised just a few inches while his chest expanded, making space for the maximum amount of oxygen. At the peak of his inhale, Takamura, in turn, began his exhaling, allowing his palms to flip and push downward as the winds of the North blasted from his powerful lungs.
"Breathing excersizes ensure that one can hold his breath for longer amounts of time, but he can also control his breathing in order to put more power into moves such as striking moves and lifting moves..."
As Takamura inahaled once again, his chest expanded in the same exact fashion. His palms raised toward the ceiling. When the exhale came, his diaphragm fell and his palms slowly sunk toward the floor as he slowly dropped to sit on the floor with his knees bent up and his feet on the floor. His palms sat beside him, balancing him. His eyes slowly opened, but there was a distant, far away look in them. The thousand mile stare. Total focus.
"Monday is coming up quite quickly, and I have trained each day whether or not my opponent might be worth the effort. I am worth the effort though. OCW is worth the effort. Competing for the professional wrestling fans of the world makes the effort worth it..."
Another deep inhale turned into a steady exhale as Kenshin Takamura laid back in a straight position, looking directly up at the ceiling. He didn't bother to stop to speak again though because, in an impressive display of flexibility, Kenshin brought his legs up to his head, pushing them far enough to his head that his feet went over his cranium. He then rolled his shoulders back so he was up upon them. Next, he dropped his palms and arms flat on the floor to give himself a base on his shoulders and arms. In an amazing feat of strength, he pushed his legs vertically into the air, showing off his amazing core muscle strength. At this point, his legs were completely straightened out into the air as Kenshin's eyes suddenly focused on the camera. The Tokyo Tiger didn't even seem strained by this yoga pose.
"Lou Bruno. This is a yoga pose that is considered difficult yet I can execute it with ease. Does that mean anything to you? I would not imagine it would. Let me guess, you think 'so this guy can stand on his head, so what?' To be honest, the reaction would not surprise me. You are nothing more than an ignorant fool who thinks the only possible way to do anything is his own way. Oh, but that is not the funny part. The funniest part is you are allowed to attack others, steal from them, and bad-mouth them, but if they do it to you, it is bad news, right? Right."
"Bruno, there is not much else for me to say. I could talk shit about you, I could make jokes about your mother, but, in the long run, where does all that nonsense get me? I might as well be standing on my head. Heso wo kamu tomo oyobanu. It is too late to repent..."
With that, Kenshin Takamura's eyes slowly closed as the scene slowly faded to black...
