Fade in.
Alexis always hated winter. It was the least favorite season of the year for her as she had to put away her favorite sun dresses and she could no drive down to the Galveston pier with the top down. There was just something wrong with driving her 64' Comet with the top up. But like anywhere else, Galveston was cold in the winter so that meant endless days stuck inside. She would fiddle around with her novel she was writing or rest on the couch watching Netflix, maybe even listen to a new album but nothing held her attention long enough to interest her. With Galveston Island Wrestling closing she feared for the worst. Mother Nature took her summer away from her and now her passion was gone as well. If she couldn't spend her days on the beach she would spend her days inside a squared circle kicking faces.
Cue Online Championship Wrestling.
"Excuse me miss, aren't you Alexis Terry?" Alexis heard as she exited her car clad in jeans, a black tight fitted blouse, a black leather jacket, and aviators. Alexis flashed a smile. Standing in front of her was a man in a full blown suit. It looked expensive, something from the new Gucci line. He looked hansom and had that million dollar smile that would melt the hearts of any girl. Alexis nodded in agreement with his previous question. "My name is Andrew and I will be taking care of you today. Your agents sent me from London. I was informed to make sure you had everything you needed for your stay in Minnesota" he said with a grin.
"Well, I don't quiet fancy being in Minnesota but I will make the best of it. Anyways, I am simply here to sign paperwork. My first match takes place in a week or so" Alexis replied. Alexis opened the backseat and grabbed her gym bag that contained some workout clothes and ring gear. She let the strap rest on her shoulder and she followed "Andrew" through the parking lot...a parking lot that led straight to a high school gym. She wasn't to surprised. She had worked in worst places and GIW wasn't much better. Life is hard for an independent wrestler. She entered and saw the small ring set up and a hundred or so chairs surrounding the ring. A few workers were setting up the makeshift stage. She looked over at Andrew who was smiling at her. "It's not much but its something for the time being. You were a bit hesitant to take the Galveston job also, yeah? Give it a few and I bet you will be right at home. I'm going to let you get settled and I will back back with the paperwork for you to sign" he said, doing his best to glorify the situation. He made his way towards the exit leaving Alexis to ponder.
"Well..." Alexis said under her breath. "It's better than nothing" she finished, heading to the ring. She grabbed the bottom rope and pulled herself up and into the ring. It wasn't anything special but it felt like home and that was a feeling she had missed dearly. She let her bag hit the mat. She closed her eyes and smiled. She hit the ropes with a bang and began to run them just like she had to on her first day of Wrestling School. THUD! She hit the mat taking a perfect back bump.
"Hey..hey you!"
