(OOC: Sorry it is so short. I was a little strapped for time this week. Sorry to Rain for not really being able to work with you on this RP the way we would have preferred.)
Our scene opens as Brianna sits down for a cup of tea in one of Eric Herrera’s training schools for the mentally and physically handicapped. The man known as Rain as Brianna continues to speak with her Idris Elba steel chair sitting next to her. Rain makes nothing of the awkwardness of this.
Brianna: Poor sod wanted my attention and he bloody well got it. Now he is complaining that I took things a bit too far? Firstly, there is not a “too far” in this business. If you believe there is a “too far” you are not doing this for the right reasons and you just aren’t passionate about the goal you have set for yourself: in his case, it is the Central title that he so covets. In my case, it is conditioning him to be the opponent he should be …a conditioning he is refusing by insisting on being Incredible but his attitude not reflecting that. But he has got what he wanted: he has his shot for the title he so cherishes against me. And have been given what I want. No. Not that silly title but I have been hand delivered a match type that my conditioning will be complete. “Indcredible” Ian will be broken of his insecurity; he will be broken of his need of relics to reinforce his own feeling of confidence.
She takes a sip of her tea before Eric is about to say something but she quickly cuts him off with great enthusiasm.
Brianna: And there could not be a better metaphor for our meeting of the minds than to be in a House of Mirrors match. He will have no choice but to face himself and his inner demons. He will have to look at his reflection and see the coveting, selfish man he has turned into. And he will look at himself and see that even though he covets these things … he won’t even consider sacrificing himself for those material things. He will see himself for the shallow person he really is. And he will break that glass …only to find me. He will find me willing to sacrifice, not for gold, not for fame, not for some falsified image I want to sell to the world …but because I enjoy the rush being in the ring gives me; because it gives me a feeling of self-actualization being in there and knowing I have given it my all against an opponent; because I BELIEVE that he can be a more fleshed out person that what he has been. And I BELIEVE that this match will help me get him there.
She takes a quick bite of her scone as once again Rain goes to open his mouth but she immediately starts babbling again.
Brianna: I proved my willingness to sacrifice on MNM …and he proved his willingness to take. My little stunt wasn’t about maiming him or revenge …but it was to show the difference between the two of us. He attacked ONLY when he knew he had the upperhand. He attacked ONLY when he thought he could win. He attacked ONLY when he thought he would not be putting himself at risk. I attacked knowing fully well that my safety, well-being, and my general were at risk. And you have to ask, at this point, which one of us does the house of mirrors match favor with those two states of mind?
Rain raises his index finger to answer but yet again, Brianna keeps speaking.
Brianna: And these claims of me being crazy are ridiculous. I have been the one approaching this whole thing logically and scientifically. He is the one who keeps making insane claims to a title before he has even had a debut match. He is the one who is letting himself driven mad by eighties tunes. And he is the one who REFUSES to see this situation through any perspective other than his own. He seems to be the one who is losing his mind here. Isn’t that right, Idris?
She stops and looks at her chair for a seconds. Eric is about to take this moment to finally answer her and plan their strategy as a team …but she again cuts him off.
Brianna: But I believe that I am getting a tad bit of ahead of myself now aren’t I?
He nods his head but she continues to talk with her cup of tea in her hand.
Brianna: I believe the two of us have something of a tag team contest against my patient Ian and your good mate Damian Payne.
He smiles as she quickly continues.
Brianna: Yes, I am quite excited to be teaming with you as well. I just love what you have been doing with these young people and your message of positive thinking. As you know, it is close to my own personal philosophy of if you believe, you can achieve …it is also a catchy R. Kelly diddy. It is a matter of nurture over nature. If you teach somebody with great respect towards them and build them up …it doesn’t matter what obstacles they were born with or born into, they can achieve those goals. I suppose you are an example of that, now aren’t you Eric? I would imagine that being born with a learning definiency and NOT letting it defeat has given you great resolve to rise above the odds and become the Hardcore Icon you have become today. I greatly respect that …and I do not believe that our opponents are the least bit prepared for our combination of Violence and Positivity.
He is about to speak out about there match but Brianna stands up and makes a proclamation.
Brianna: POSITIVELY VIOLENT! That could be our moniker.
With his cup of coffee in hand he stares at her with a look that says “really?”
Brianna: No?
He shakes his head.
Brianna: Righty-o then.
He doesn’t even try to speak now as she immediately sits back down and starts to talk about their coming tag team contest.
Brianna: My point is though that while both are aggressive both don’t really understand the lengths they need to go to be in this business; to be an actual individual in this business …to be fully actualized. Here Mr. Payne is across the ring from me and while I do respect that he respects me …he just shouldn’t have hesitation to rip me apart. Given the common psychology of this business and the motivations and egos …neither you nor him should be happy teaming with either Ian or myself if I am to be quite frank. We were chosen for something that both of you want, neither of you should be so eager to team with us. Now, while you are a positive thinker life myself both you and I know that there is going to be some animosity and I think we understand that. I don’t think Payne or Ian really get that. Deep down inside Payne resents Ian and myself …he is coping with that by trying to flatter us. But the longer he holds back on facing that pettiness the more likely he will not be the partner that Ian needs in this match. And Ian, being Ian, has a superiority complex when it comes to everyone …so I am sure his smugness will rub a part of Damian the wrong way. It is just basic human nature, love.
She gives him that enthusiastic smile …as he clears his throat to speak.
Brianna: NOW …as far our match goes. I think we have the mental edge here due to that and the fact that their twitter feeds are full of gym talk that pointing out the homo eroticism would just be redundant. For somebody named Bishop, he sure does understate the psychology of this business, doesn’t he?
He nods his head in agreement about this as she continues to babble on about the coming match.
Brianna: Yes, being in great physical shape is key but there is way too much worth put into it by both men. All that strength means NOTHING if you cannot tie it together with ring awareness, intelligence, and momentum …and maybe a tad bit of ruthless intent when necessary. Let us face it …and I hope that you do not take this offensively. We are both seen as underdogs. You have been an underdog your whole career and have made that career ABOUT proving the naye sayers wrong. I am an underdog in that I am a first year rookie and I have to work with the strengths that my gender brings as well as the weaknesses that many in the world overemphasize. My point here is dear, that we are used to people underestimating us and we are KNOW that we have to put in that extra ten percent in EVERYTHING we do in the ring. We have to utilize EVERY element of the ring all the time. Those two don’t understand that. To them it is size and grappling knowledge. They do not pencil in those other elements because they don’t usually have to.
He has completely giving up getting a word in edge wise as this enthusiastic young lady continues to go on and on.
Brianna: NOW, love, my goal is to NEVER win but enjoy the challenges this sport brings forth to me …but I realize that is different for you …so I will play within your goals. I will aide you in getting this victory …and probably adding a wee bit of pain to our Resurrection opponents.
She holds her hand out to solidify their agreement …which he takes. But then she looks at him with an upturned eyebrow.
Brianna: You are not the talkative sort are you?
