We open to footage of a wrestling match from 2011. A federation called EWA, the show Burnout. We see the newest OCW signee Robert Morbidus in an extremely violent hardcore match. We see Morbidus put his opponent - a Mexican with the Indian sounding name of Aki Boohe Khan –through a table with barbed wire all over it, face first with the Vampire’s Redemption and we see Morbidus’ manager, Mr. Judas cheering on his client and most trusted friend from ringside. We see Morbidus attempt to feed on Boohe Khan’s blooded forehead before the footage is shut off.
Morbidus’ face then comes into shot. He is in a darkened room surrounded by candlelight. His eyes, unblinking, staring a hole through the camera. His gaze, fixed on the camera just as a hawk watches a field mouse. An extremely long pause happens with Morbidus staring for a good five minutes at least.
At last, he speaks.
Morbidus: OCW. Online Championship Wrestling. Hmph. You claim to be ‘online’ yet you are on a television network. This is amusing. OCW – You do not yet know the power I possess, but you will. The footage you saw just now was one of my first matches in wrestling. And OCW, this is your fate... My opponent for that match said that he wished to have nothing more to do with me, I eviscerated him that much. His life force still sustains me, these many years on. OCW my name is Morbidus. Robert Morbidus. Mr. Judas!
Mr. Judas wanders into shot carrying the gold goblet seen previously. He hands it to Morbidus, who drinks.
Judas: Whether or not you believe my client to be a real vampire or a man in cosplay is immaterial. Robert Morbidus is darkness personified and in that ring, he will show the world what he can do. But OCW – know this – my client, my friend, Robert Morbidus lives for Massacres. How fitting that your weekly show has such a name sake. OCW, you believe that you know what a massacre is? You have not witnessed a massacre until you have seen my client in action.
Morbidus raises a hand to silence Mr. Judas. Mr. Judas nods, complies and walks back off camera.
Morbidus: In this goblet is the life force of 2000 great warriors. Its energy keeps me sustained for…long…periods. I am a vampire – whether you believe me is quite frankly of no concern to me - I am darkness itself. And you will see what I can do at Monday. Night. Massacre.
The screen fades out
