“We all need to look into the dark side of our nature...
that is where the passion is...the energy...
It is part of who we are...do not fear it...embrace it
become whole....
we are both darkness and light....”

Darkness can be a scary place to be for someone who is a Nyctophobic. Darkness can be a wonderful for those who love to be in it. However, darkness tends to be the place where people lose all grip of reality and forget about the beings that may or may not ‘come out’ in the depths of darkness. It all comes down to who is blinded in the darkness, and who can look beyond it and survive. Darkness is a place where one man gets his strength from. He lived without light for so long and yet seems to understand what it means to be hidden beneath the dark. He learns from it and survives.
The shadows that lurk in the darkness tend to come out when provoked and seek for retribution for their disturbance. One man who stands in the shadow of darkness has been awoken and is gradually stepping back into the light. The man, who is wearing a solid green mask, slowly steps into a small light that appears beneath a pot hole. In the background we can hear the sound of water running in a calm stream. The focus of attention lies on the man wearing the mask. Everything about this soon comes into fruition when he looks up at the only source of light beaming through the pot hole. He lifts his arms as if reaching for something above his head. He smiles as his hands slowly come down and fall beneath his side.
“Ah, the light is so beautiful. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen something so precious and wonderful. I’ve lived in darkness for so long that I almost forgot what it was like to see that one beam of light. I find it fascinating to stare at it feeling the light on my eyes when I close them.”
The man lowers his head and does nothing else but stare straight ahead as if he is looking for something that is not there. His eyes widen and his mouth spreads releasing a sadistic grin on his face. He begins laughing in that hysterical laugh that seems oh so familiar.
“It’s been two years since I’ve stepped foot in the squared circle. I have spent my time finding what lies beneath the darkness and lurks in the shadows. I have been finding myself trying to understand why I see the things that I see; hear the things that I hear; feel the things that I feel. I’ve come to the conclusion that darkness is the reason for my sanity.”
He pauses at the mere thought of a person’s sanity.
“Do I have sanity in me? Is everything I believe in sane? Have I lost touch with reality all these years? That is something that I should be asking myself, but I already know the answer to. I am as sane as I want to be. I am one with myself. I am…”
The man pauses as he stares from one side of the ‘darkness’ to the other. The smile on his face gets bigger and bigger. He grasps his head in between his hands and begins pounding his temples with the palm of both his hands.
“CRAZY! I…am…crazy…I…am…crazy…I…AM…CRAZY...I am Crazy!”
Suddenly the sound of laughter echoes throughout the darkness which seems to rattle some of the ‘figures’ in the darkness. The maniacal laugh comes to a stop.
“People call me crazy because of the thoughts that run through my head. They call me crazy because of my actions that I don’t quite think about until I suffer the consequences. They call me crazy because I AM crazy. I am Crazy Chris and I am coming home to OCW. I made my return last week when my brother and I defeated the former tag champs. I am on a roll in the new era of OCW and this week at Massacre I get to show the world who I really am.”
Chris slowly steps out from underneath the light and disappears into the darkness. That maniacal laugh soon echoes into the darkness yet again. Suddenly a flam appears in view as Chris’ face lurks behind the glowing orange flame.
“Victor you think you know what it means to be crazy? You think you have this match in the bag? You think you have me beaten? Well… (Whispers) guess again.”
Chris stares into the flame as if it were holding a trance on him. He begins placing his fingers at the tip of the flame.
“Victor, your start here in OCW is not going to be like you thought it would be. I am about to teach you a free lesson on why I am a Hall of Famer. I see that you know nothing about me, Victor. Apparently I have been hidden here in the darkness for a long time. Victor, you want to know the reason why I am better than you? It’s simple…I’m smarter and a hell of a lot better than you. I know exactly what occurs inside the square circle and your ‘dominance’ of me in that ring is only a figment of your pathetic imagination. You think you’re so tough because you have a scary look? Ha, I find it amusing that you honestly believe everything that you said. I’m quiet for a reason, Victor. I’m quiet because I’m outsmarting you. I’m quiet because I’m outthinking you. I’m quiet because I’m outplaying you Victor.”
Chris blows the rapid flame out with one simple breath. A moment of silence fills the air as the sound of water in the background feels refreshing and soothing. Footsteps soon can be heard making their way closer and closer. They suddenly stop. Suddenly a flicker of light brightens through the darkness as Chris’ face is as close as close can be. It definitely would make someone claustrophobic want to get out as quickly as possible.
“BOO!”
Chris laughs again.
“You see Victor…I can come out of nowhere and with a drop of a pin I can take you out. I can snap you in half just like a twig. I’ve fought tougher guys than you Victor. Hell, I’ve been in a damn war with the no good group known as…well…let’s just say that I am FUCKING BETTER than them. Read up your GCWA history Victor and you will see what I’m talking about. You will see why I am the man I am today. I’ve fought battles that you would have never been able to win Victor. I’ve beaten former World champions that I for sure know you would never have beaten. I have beaten men, women, friends, and even my own brother. I used to look up to certain people and considered them my heroes; however, the voices inside my head taught me how to defeat some of my heroes and how to be just like them. I used to have so many heroes and superheroes but they all failed me. I realized I can be my own hero, I am my own superhero. I've been fighting my own demons my entire life and most of the time I've won. Oh Victor…if you only knew half of my damn story. I haven’t the time to give you a lesson, but I will start teaching you Chapter one. Chapter one is the easiest one of them all. It’s a short lesson Victor. Chapter one starts with me whipping your ass inside that ring and ends with me standing over you victorious.”
Chris snaps his fingers as a light from above shines down on his entire body. The light seems to be coming out of nowhere. An unexplainable force of nature seems to be casting their presence out from above. It’s unclear what is causing the light to shine, but it doesn’t matter as Chris has his closing statement.
“If there is one thing you should EVER remember about me Victor…it’s that I’m no easy man to beat. I’m going to be the test that you fail this Monday on Massacre. I’m sorry Victor, but your time here in OCW is coming to an abrupt halt. Your so-called reign of dominance isn’t going to be the reign you pictured when you signed on that dotted line. I was brought back to OCW for a reason Victor. There’s a plan in motion for my brother and I and it all starts this Monday. Dean knows what I am capable of inside that ring and that, my friend, is the reason why he begged us to come back. Don’t think that just because I’ve been retired for two years that I won’t be hard to beat. That’s not the case Victor. My retirement these past two years has helped me understand who I am. I am the one that is going to rise to greatness here in OCW. I am the one who was cast out from the darkness Victor. Darkness is my friend and it’s time to show you who Crazy Chris really is, Victor. I hope you enjoy darkness because after Monday I’m taking you out Victor. You’re going to embrace the darkness and soon call it your friend. Darkness lurks in every corner and never goes away. Light, well it can come and go. For however long you live, you'll have darkness follow you. But light will just leave. That, Victor, is the gospel of Crazy Chris: Chapter FUCK verse YOU!”
The light quickly turns into darkness letting the coldness of its meaning deepen into our soul. Letting us embrace its cold majestic stature. As we finally come to a close and wait for what lurks in the darkness again.
“Why are you afraid of me? I have only wanted to protect you. Keep you from making those decisions that have left you a broken man but instead you reject me. Just think how much easier life would be if you would have let me, all those wasted moments, all the wasted time and for what. You're broken now and I am slipping through the cracks. In return I will show you the same kindness you have shown me but only after you watch what you love die.”
Our scene opens to two men standing outside dressed in warm clothing. One is wearing a hooded jacket with blue jeans and tennis shoes. The other is wearing a ski mask and thick clothing. Snow falls from the sky and lands softly onto the ground. The men carefully pick up a handful and begin forming a ball into each hand. One by one they slowly begin building a…snowman? In January? The two after building their snowman suddenly turn their attention to a little boy about five-years-old standing on the other side of the door.
“Daddy!”
“What is it son?”
The little boy reaches his hand up standing on his tippy toes as if to open to the door, however, is too small to reach it. He lowers his arms and stands firmly on his little feet. He begins to cry.
“DAAAAADYYYYYYY!”
The men, recognized as Dangerous Dan and Crazy Chris, make their way to the door. Dan reaches and pulls the door open as he sweeps the little boy into his arms before stepping inside.
“We need to get you dressed before letting you play out in the snow.”
Dan takes the little boy into a back bedroom, as Chris takes a seat in one of the chairs on the porch. Moments later Dan returns with the little boy wrapped firmly in warm clothing. He lowers the little boy and lets him loose on the porch. The little boy slowly makes his way down the steps and into the snow. He quickly heads towards the snowman.
“Daddy…snowman.”
“Yeah, it’s a snowman. You want to make a snowman Elias?”
Elias shakes his head yes, as Dan steps down onto the snow and the two begin making another snowman…a smaller one so that Elias is able to reach him.
“You want to join Uncle Chris?”
“Nah, you two seem to be having fun. You guys need a little father/son time. I’ll just be the “he’s in the way” Uncle.
“Suit yourself…but you’re missing all the fun.”
Chris continues rocking back-and-forth in the chair. After a few moments, Dan and Elias finish making the snowman. Elias continues playing in the snow as Dan joins by his brother’s side. He takes a seat.
“Brrrr…it’s cold out here.”
“Cold? Ah, you pussy.”
“Don’t tell me you ain’t cold?”
Chris checks up and down and side to side.
“Hells yeah I’m cold dumbass! I was just teasing with ya.”
“I figured that much.”
Dan takes a seat back trying to get as comfortable as possible in a wicker rocking chair. He rests his feet on a flower pot placed in front of his chair. He kicks back and continues a conversation with his brother at the same time not taking his eyes off the little boy.
“So…you want to talk about what happened the other day?”
“Not really. I prefer not to ever talk about it if that’s okay with you little bro.”
“Sure…but at some point you’re going to have too. You have only mentioned bits and pieces of it. I would like to know exactly what happened sooner than later…bro.”
“Really Dan? You want to talk about me getting arrested for something that I didn’t do? You want me to explain over and over the story? Fine, I will tell you the freaking ass story Dan!”
“Well I don’t want to force you to do anything you don’t want to do. But I definitely want to know the whole story.”
“Fine…it all started when I woke up the other morning…”
