OCW has fined wrestler “the Incredible” Ian Bishop an undisclosed amount due to his actions on Monday Night Massacre last night and was also ordered to take part in sensitivity training. After pulling such stunts as giving Mia Stone “fried chicken, watermelon, and grape drink” and then beating Mia with a whip and telling her “she’d be better off as a slave”, many individuals from the African American community, organizations and sponsors threatened to pull support from OCW until some course of action was taken place. The results were met mixed reactions as one African American fan of OCW had this to say about the result:
“A fine is a start but I think it should’ve been harsher. He should’ve been suspended or stripped of his number one contender status for both the Central and Tag titles. He's promoting racism, which is NOT okay.”
Ian Bishop will be competing in two matches at OCW’s next Pay Per View, Clash at the Coast, live on Lanikai Beach in Oahu, Hawaii. The first match will be with his tag partner Sean Fuller as Victory Denied as they take on the team of Danny B and Amber Ryan for the OCW Tag Team Championship. Later on in the evening Ian Bishop will look to reclaim the OCW Central Championship for the second time against Mia Stone and MJ Bell.
When told about the fine, Ian Bishop promptly made himself available for comment:
“Un-fucking-believable. Of course, some black woman makes a statement about woman equality or a drag queen wanting to marry his marmite miner and its fine but people like Cliven Bundy, Donald Sterling and myself make personal comments about our personal views and we get fined or fired about OUR VIEWS, just like they make their views? What the fuck is wrong with this world? I won’t contest the fine cause I know I won’t win due to the blatant biased opinions of this country but mark my words, there will be payback in store next week.”
In addition to the fine and training, Bishop will also not compete in any matches at the next Monday Night Massacre taking place in Long Beach, California. This won’t stop Bishop though from appearing on the program if he chooses to do so and by judging on his comments; he plans to.
