-Donnie was busier than he could ever imagine, and he enjoyed it; between autograph signings and just public appearances, it felt good. Actually, it felt better than just running around as an MMA fighter.
The training was much more expensive than anything he had done in wrestling. It was less and less of a shock as to why many of the older talent would turn to pro wrestling. Not only was the payday more guaranteed, as it was a contract of dates rather than a contract based on number of fights, but it was also physically less taxing; the only truly demanding part was travel, and the travel was something that made a stay-cation that much more appealing.
However, it didn’t matter at this point, though; he was a champion of two brands: Outcast and Outsiders. He bore the weight of championship with pride and aplomb, at least in his mind he did. After all, he enjoyed the time he got, carrying the heavy belts around, whether it was posing for the odd trading card or even having the digitized model set up for fighting or wrestling games.
And Donnie kept his body honed, like the sharpened edge of a knife. It felt like he had to reduce the time he spent in the gym, but he kept his focus on working his core and his cardio, alternating between arms and legs when he was able to take the time. Would he be recognized? Honestly, no, but he didn’t mind or care in any way. It mattered only to him, and to management obviously, that he recognized himself as a champion; sure, there was the random OCW, didn’t matter which, fan who would meet him in the gym, or on the street, and get a photo, and usually it was for the Outcast Anarchy title, but that was okay. Having something called the “Streaming Service” title seemed almost contrived. However, the announcement came through for the new three belts: Global, Great North and TV titles.
Donnie just had three new targets added to the hit list.
Stay focused. After putting his work in for Outcast’s Battleground, and any others coming up before Christmas Eve, he knew to keep his mind in the game, which the public appearances definitely helped with. Having no character, so to speak, or having no gimmick helped keep him humble and real in among the crowds of fans, whether it was someone who kept him a heel or played him a face. Whatever, because what mattered to Donnie was the art of promotion, and promotion was fun.
But no promotion, and no fun, comes from never talking.
There was a ring at the event in question this time around: a comic convention and otherwise gathering of the nerds. He had a time slot, so he grabbed a mic, attached the Outcast Anarchy title around his waist and wore the Outsiders Streaming Service title like a bandoleer; he waved to the crowd gathered and started to speak.-

Hello everyone. I’m glad to see that there are quite a few of you here. Obviously, the idea of “sports entertainment” is a fun thing to watch for a lot of you. If you don’t already know who I am, I am Donnie Harris, OCW’s... sorry, Outcast Championship Wrestling’s Anarchy champion and Outsiders Championship Wrestling’s Streaming Service champion, hopefully to evolve into Television champion. I’ve been in combat sports for as long as I can remember, considering the lack of shots to the head I’ve taken in the process. As for wrestling, I have actually only been at it for the last... year or so, I guess? It has treated me well, I have to say.
-A mild round of applause takes place after the introduction, and Donnie decides to let the real fun start.-

I hope you guys enjoyed the last Battleground, I know I did. But Outsiders... keep your ear to the ground, buy a ticket if you’re in St. Louis, buy the pay-per-view, and get ready for some Christmas Chaos to suck some of your own chaotic energy out and help your holiday be a nice, relaxing time for you and yours. The main event involves someone I do care about and trust to stand in the ring with or opposite me, SYNN, going up against current #1 contender Matt Knox. As for me, I’m in the upper middle of the card, facing Triple J, JigJig Jameson. Now my first question: who the hell is that?
-Another mild response, but a little louder this time: the true fans can immediately feel a promo coming.-
)Donnie Harris(
Now, if you guys could only imagine my confusion at hearing Triple J, because I have no idea who that is, and I know he can’t hear a lot of this, especially if you guys don’t have your phones out GET YOUR PHONES OUT to record what I’m saying. I know not everyone will want to hear what I want to say, but I want to say it, loudly and proudly: GET OUT OF MY RING, JAMESON! Are you serious right now? You think, just because you were put in the ring with me because of Strader, that you belong there? Well, I hate to say this, but no, you don’t; you won’t; you can’t. You’re facing a double champion.
-Donnie slaps the plate of each belt when saying, “champion”.-
)Donnie Harris(
Champions aren’t just chosen to be champions; I was chosen to face the adversity of the former champions, and I earned my victory and my championship titles. I was forced to face my detractors and my rivals, SYNN in particular, and I put them in their place, enough to be what I am now. I have no intention of slowing down, and it will take a bullet in the brain or an arrow in the knee before I get put down.
-Donnie stops and begins to take questions from the crowd.-
