Calaway Home

May 20th 2023
Alexandra Calaway stood looking at her daughter while she slept, the moonlight flooding into her daughter’s bedroom. Like the memories from the past that had been flooding back into her mind, things she had started to remember about what happened before Nova found out about the baby, about the truth of Ashlynn’s existence. Which had led to Nova wanting to kill her, Zak having twisted Nova’s mind about the woman he had once loved, the woman and the growing child inside her, that he had vowed to protect. However, Alexandra was stronger and well aware of what they had planned for her. Escaping that hell was the best thing she had ever done. Despite having almost died to escape it. She wondered if he would have come to save her had he known the horror that had befallen her and their child. Lord knows what he would have done to Zak and Nova.
The nagging truth however, the secret she had carried with her all this time. The flood of memories that came rushing back in that moment. A moment she never knew would come and still hoped that no one would ever find out the truth of who Ashlynn’s father was. She remembered that day, the day he paid her for her silence, to protect them. The fear that filled her. From the moment she knew she was pregnant, she had been in danger. A danger that no matter how famous she was, if they had found out, if anyone had known, wouldn’t matter. They still would have harmed her and her unborn daughter to get to him. She had promised to keep the secret, to keep silent for however long it took. Taking the money, she hated that she would have to spend the rest of her life, telling her daughter anything but the truth.
Looking at her now, she could see so much of him in her. The hair, the eyes, it all made more sense. Yes, it all made the biggest sense. There’s so much she wanted to tell her daughter. She wanted to tell her the truth, the risk was gone now right? It had died with him. She feared how different life would be, should her daughter ever learn the truth.
“My daughter.. I hope you can forgive me and that one day you understand why I had to do it.. Why I never could tell you the truth. I always prayed it would never happen. But there’s always a chance he had left something behind. I fear what could happen if anyone ever finds out that you are his little one.”
The words didn’t escape her lips, however, they hung in the air. You could see it in her eyes. She felt a hand on her shoulder and the feeling of his hands slightly rough from years of riding his motorcycle, against her bare shoulders, slowly sliding down. His hands came to rest on her hips, pulling her into the darkness.
“Hello John.”
She paused, feeling his hand sliding down to take hers, leading her down the darkened hallway of her home, towards her bedroom.
“Whatever has you out of bed at this hour, can wait.”
“A secret I’ve kept for far too long, partially because of the head trauma that happened. Partially because I don’t want to lose her.”
“You won’t. I’d never let that happen.”
“I know you wouldn’t. But the fear is still there, regardless. It’s always going to be there.”
“Babe, I’m here. Let’s focus on right now and whatever the fear is, we will face it when and if it ever happens.”
He pulls her back into bed and kisses her, she sighs softly and gives in.

Alexandra and her daughter stepped out of the rental car, she smiled as she watched Ashlynn run to hug John. She took her time to stroll over before hugging him and kissing his cheek, not wanting to be too R-Rated in front of her now eleven year old daughter. John smirked and then nodded at the two ladies.
“So what are we doing out here? You have a match to prepare for and I’m pretty sure Tamika wanted to spend time with Ash.”
Ashlynn giggled and nodded, perking up a bit.
“Tamika is picking me up in a few minutes from right here. Momma wanted to do something nice for you since you are always doing stuff for us.”
“Turn around and look right over there.”
“The Moto Museum? Really Alex, you sure? You know we might be here all day?”
“I don’t see that as being a big issue. We have a lot of time.”
He smiles at her and Tamika walks up, the three adults exchange for a few moments and then Tamika takes Ashlynn and goes, leaving John and Alexandra alone. As the two walk towards the Moto Museum.
“I know you are taking this match seriously right? Felix isn’t going to be a joke.”
“John, I've been paying attention to OCW even in my time away. I’m aware of what he can do, but I’m not afraid. You know what I’m capable of, so why should I show any fear going into this. Whoever that masked being was, if he or she gets involved in my match tonight, I’ll do the same thing that I always do. Fight until I have nothing left. And I know if it does get too hairy, you’ll come out there like a knight on a shining bike and rescue me.”
He shook his head laughing.
“Yes, let's just tell the whole world I have a soft spot for you Calaway. I’m sure the dirt sheets would love to twist that to the company showing you favoritism.”
He wraps an arm around her and pulls her in closer.
“We both know Tamika expects more out of me. She’s given me the toughest opponents since my return to OCW and I don’t think she’s going to stop now. Look how close I was to beating Synn in my return match. Even Synn herself says I almost had her. And on any other day, it could have been different. I’m not the least bit worried about Mr. Full Auto. Because clearly, he’s on autopilot. When was the last time anyone actually heard from him?”
“I think around the end of March.”
“Exactly and if you are worried, just be on the ready. Until then, relax a little, and would it kill you to have a little fun? Come on, it’s motorcycles from around the world and spanning over several decades, let’s do this.”
“Alright. I could think of something else I’d like to do while we are alone together.”
He gave her a chuckle and the two of them walked inside, John pointing out the first few bikes he’d like to take a look at. Alexandra watches the excitement on his face, a smile crossing her own features. It was different in these moments when they were away from the ring that made her realize just how important he was to her. Now, to prove she was still in OCW for the right reasons, despite what others thought, she really did enjoy her time there, she just needed the distance for a bit.
Off the Cuff
The Arch at Night

Alexandra took a few moments to breath before the camera came up on her, the Saint Louis Arch behind her as she stepped towards the camera. A beat, as she licked her lips and began to speak.
“It’s clear to me that Felix, you seem to have a knack for disappearing, much like someone else I once knew. You see, it’s people like you who test the waters and don’t have the staying power that really gives me a nice little chuckle. I’m sure that in your short time here you realized that OCW isn’t like everywhere else. You can’t come in and make all these promises, before knowing for sure that you have the staying power, the raw talent to stand up to the likes of Synn and Plethora. You went out there in your debut match and beat Robert Uchiha and then as far as I can tell, you’ve disappeared, vanished, leaving no trace.”
She takes another few moments to pause, her eyes gazing out towards the arch.
“Same could be said for me. I left OCW once upon a time. But it was my hope that one day, it would feel right to make my return and so I did. I returned and I went one on one with our current OCW Champion, Synn. Proof positive that it only takes one day. At any time your life can change in an instant and there you are, facing off for a Championship. You see, I half expected you to fire on all cylinders, to be Full Auto. But I see, you are afraid. You know that you are in for a challenge.”
Another few moments of silence as she spins around to look at the camera now.
“And I don’t blame you. I am a fierce competitor. I don’t go down easily, ask Synn, she knows. Synn experienced first hand just what I can do when I am focused and at Piledriver, my focus will be on you. So get yourself right with whatever you believe in, because I’m going to take you to the gates of Hell and throw you in. See you soon.”
With that the screen fades out on her walking away.
