The scene opens at a fairly deserted beach. It's early morning and the sun has just risen. Our attention is drawn to a lone form, plopped down in the middle of the sand, seated in the Lotus position. As the camera zooms closer, he is revealed as the man known as The Gimp. His eyes are closed and he suddenly opens them, a grin on his lips.
I never thought I would say this, but losing my leg in combat ended up being a blessing in disguise. See, I took life for granted. I thought my shit didn't stink just because I could get anything I wanted at the drop of a hat.
He hops to his feet as The Gimp begins to walk down the beach.
When I came back I had so much hate inside me. Why me? What did I do to deserve this? Then someone said you could have died. It was like a light bulb went off. I lost sight of what my dreams were in life. I always wanted to be a professional wrestler so why let a little disability get in my way. I came here to be a champion, to prove myself as the best of the elite. I am not going to let this opportunity pass me by. I won't allow myself to say I can't do something.
Will it be tough? Absolutely.
Will I have obstacles every day? You bet.
Will I give up? Never!
I've learned a number of important lessons. Recovering from my wounds I had the chance to reflect, to look at where it all went wrong and how to finally fix it. And now? I'm back and more focused than ever in my life.
He smiles.
People used to put their trust in me all the time and I pissed it all away. But that won't happen again. I'll be the hero everyone wants to cheer. I'll be the voice of the people. I'll be the underdog. I'll take the cards I have been dealt this time.
See, I've got my eyes on what really matters and won't let myself be derailed again. And I look forward to proving that at Monday Night Dystopia when I step up and get my bid for that Outsiders championship. Because it won't be about settling old scores or trying to prove I belong here when I step back in that backyard. Now, it's about finding that belt, fighting off the other competitors involved in this match, and making a dream into reality. And it doesn't matter who I have to fend off to make it all happen.
I saw the looks when I first arrived here.
You all smirked at me.
You laughed and pointed at me.
Go ahead and doubt me.
I have goals and ambitions just like every other competitor in Outsiders.
His smile widens.
So, Jam G, get ready. Because it's a new world and I am going to conquer it one step at a time.
Fade out.
