Compromise
Word from the OCW offices is that – much to his reluctance– Treat Cassidy agreed to the Caution/Vargas match as a way to get Chad back into the Paradigm Title picture against The Incredible One. This leads to speculation that…
Lay Down?
Will Caution lay down for Vargas? I’m told OCW management has considered the scenario and are prepared for it, should something like that come to fruition. All efforts will be made to ensure Caution and Vargas have a legitimate Last Man Standing competition.
Tag Team Titles
As of now there are no plans for a Tag Team Title Match at Like There’s No Tomorrow. OCW management is open to changing those plans should a contender arise. Unfortunately, with the Dravers loss on Monday and with Lance Savage already slated to compete against Robert Morbidus that leaves zero teams for The Aptitude to face. And, yes, we are including Deluxxx in that ‘zero’ tally.
Internet Turmoil
The IWC has been up in arms over Max Shade and his OCW run. Many fans claim that he has no background at all and is merely a bulked up behemoth being showcased due to his presence. Others believe there might be more to the story. Dr Orange thinks he’s great and will be a tremendous success. Huge.
Match Stipulation
Well we know the main event will be a Hazardous Ladder Match. We know Morbidus and Savage will compete in a Massacre Rules Match. So, that leaves the Savage, Paradigm, and Ascension Title Matches. What will those stips be? I’m told we’ll know the Savage and Ascension stips by the end of the week. The Paradigm stipulation will have to wait until Monday evening.
OH SHIT
It’s back! One of OCW’s greatest creations of 2014 is being resurrected to kick off Like There’s No Tomorrow. It will be a Battle Royal Tables Match. If you go over the top rope and through a table, you are eliminated. The winner gets a title shot at any title except for the OCW Title. All wrestlers who aren’t already booked are eligible. Rumor has it PerZag, The Dravers, Deus, and Chaotic have already signed up. Expect more names to follow…one would hope.
Open Invite?
Management is considering making the Oh Shit Match an open invite event. What this means is that non-contracted talent could compete and, conceivably, win this match and attain a title shot in OCW. The theory behind this is that it would provide more exposure to the incredible product OCW produces each and every Monday.
How big is too big?
“NOTHING is too big,” said Who’Re. Just kidding…or, well, she probably DID say that, but it has nothing to do with the following news note. The roster has swelled in recent weeks. What started as an esoteric environment commercialized overnight. This has led to booking issues within management. Will a cap be placed on the roster? If so, what will the ceiling be? OCW has never turned away an application and they’d hate to start doing it now. But, at some point, enough is enough.
Deus
Amidst all the typical OCW drama at Massacre was a backstage altercation between Deus and Tony Chu. Deus was a mysterious signing a few weeks ago and has remained such ever since. Deus will make their in ring debut this Monday. It will be interesting to see Tony Chu’s reaction to what happened and how this story advances.
MJ/Alice/CJ
CJ had a major impact in MJ Bell’s loss last night. He also had a major impact in Alice Knight’s win against The Dravers. CJ is meddling. But, is he doing it via his own volition or is it at the behest of Alice Knight? Rumors suggest that Alice Knight doesn’t believe she can defeat MJ Bell. The timing is coincidental. This alliance with CJ O’Donnell just happens to be forming imminently before her title defense. Could this be quid pro quo? Alice enlisting the help of CJ and, in return, CJ gets his name involved in the promotion’s headlining feud?
PerZag Ready
PerZag finally received what he’d been pining for since Alice Knight’s climatic pin fall of Bob Grenier. I’m told the man from Benalla wasn’t overly upset with his loss last night and is merely competing in the Oh Shit match to keep in shape. His entire focus…everything is geared toward his second chance at capturing the OCW Title.
No Fine for TIO
The Incredible One will not be fined for his interference in last night’s Savage #1 Contenders match. OCW management reviewed the film and feel as though he was provoked and therefore justified in his actions. Makes sense, if you’ve been keeping tabs on TIO and OCW’s relationship.
Robbie Rayder Bouncing Back
It was a tough loss for Rayder. But, I’m told the high flying star kept his head held high and returned to training today, focused on rebounding. Expect this man to continue his ascension, no pun intended, up the OCW ladder.
Dangerously and Assassin Impress
OCW Management was highly impressed with both wrestlers’ debuts. There was a hint of uncertainty surrounding both wrestlers when they joined. However, after their matches last night, management couldn’t be happier with the signatures. Everyone in the front office is hoping we see both men compete in the Oh Shit Match at Like There’s No Tomorrow.
Gruff and Puff to Receive More Work?
Yes, it’s finally going to happen!! Word from the main office is that Scruff will be officiating the main event at this week’s Massacre. Outside of that, Gruff and Puff will handle all other officiating duties. It’s about time.
Nathan Dravers Going Solo?
It was a tough loss last night for the Dravers. Nathan Dravers has already shown an inclination toward independence and now he’s booked in a singles match against Max Shade. I’m told not to read too much into this. It’s simply an opportunity for Nathan to blow off some steam while testing the #1 Contender for the Ascension Title. And, of course, if Nathan wins…
Triple Threat?
It would make sense. If Nathan Dravers defeats Max Shade look for the Ascension Title Match to expand at Like There’s No Tomorrow.
What’s Next for Annie and Syren?
Nobody knows.
Curt Canon Hall of Fame Induction
Canon is set to be inducted into the OCW Hall of Fame at Like There’s No Tomorrow. Scott Syren will be giving the speech and James Vorex is expected to be in attendance. No word yet on whether or not Lurrr will show up to avenge his loss from nearly twenty years ago. But, it would be CLASSIC LURRR, BABY.
Lurkin Murray?
Does Andy Murray still lurk the hallways? If so, why haven’t we seen the OCW Hall of Famer hiding in the background of random promos? Well, I’m told OCW management put a stop to Lurkin Murray. They tried to force him into a contract and, well, that was a deal breaker. Bummer…we all loved Lurkin Murray.
Welsh to Attend Like There’s No Tomorrow
Our esteemed and rarely seen GM will be in Key West on the 20th for Like There’s No Tomorrow. No major announcements are planned, at this time. It just seems, with the magnitude of the event, that the man himself, Marcus Welsh should be present.
The Marvel without a Match
It seems surprising that OCW’s biggest free agent acquisition should be matchless heading into the promotion’s biggest event. But, that’s where we are. Fresh off his win against Drew Stevenson, Matt Meyhu sits without a plan, directionless. OCW Management is pushing for the Oh Shit Match. Will Meyhu throw his name into the hat or will he wait to see if the Tag Titles are booked onto the show?
Drew Stevenson
It’s been a rough couple of weeks for The Emerald. OCW Management has been pulling for Stevenson to win and rise up the OCW card. Unfortunately, it just hasn’t happened. Stevenson is immensely talented and absolutely capable of big things in OCW. Hopefully frustration doesn’t prevent that from happening.
Julliet Brooks attending Like There’s No Tomorrow?
Rumors are swirling that world renowned wrestler Julliet Brooks might have accepted an invitation to attend Like There’s No Tomorrow. As if that weren’t enough, additional rumors cite Ms Brooks arriving to Key West a day or two early for a meeting with GM Marcus Welsh. Could Brooks be signing to compete in OCW? That would be pretty kewl.
Madalyn Macie and Chaotic to join Treat Cassidy’s team?
Treat Cassidy has made overtures to both Macie and Chaotic. He’s looking to expand his stable of competitors. The Aptitude has dominated thus far in OCW, running roughshod over everyone, especially Cassidy’s crew.
An Irish Affair
CJ O’Donnell and Mack O’Connor for the Savage Title at a St. Patrick’s Day themed event…expect the Irish portion of OCW’s fan base to be in rare form. The winner could lay claim to being the toughest Irish man in OCW. And rumors of the loser dropping the ‘O’ from their name are NOT true.
Former Stars reaching out to Annie and Syren
Steve Kudos, Clubbin Man, Logan Caine, Homeboy, SB-1, James Vorex, and Special K have all reached out to Syren and Annie trying to get their names into the Hall of Fame. The likelihood of any of these names receiving the ‘Canon Treatment’ is less than zero.
Word from the OCW offices is that – much to his reluctance– Treat Cassidy agreed to the Caution/Vargas match as a way to get Chad back into the Paradigm Title picture against The Incredible One. This leads to speculation that…
