The lights overhead illuminate the inside of the van as it rides along a highway. The occupants, BRIM and who we can assume are Daphne and Freddie are bundled together in the front. Daphne appears to be uncomfortable due to BRIM’s girth but it places her closer to Fred, which she doesn’t mind all too much. BRIM seems frustrated during the ride but his feelings aren’t truly made clear.
“Ahh, Fred.. This is such a relaxing ride..” says Daphne who puts her hand on Freddie’s thigh making him nervous.
“Easy Daph we don’t wanna make the big guy jealous over there.” Fred whispered.
BRIM hears him though. “Trust me, there’s nothing inside of this motherfucka that has me jealous of anything. That’s including her skinny ass.”
Daphne is taken aback by BRIM’s comment but Fred somehow appears to be relieved.
“The only thing that I’m concerned about is what I’m paying you for and that’s to help solve the mystery of these doppelgangers that just randomly showed up.”
“Now that you mentioned it..” Fred stated. “Here” Fred reaches into his pocket and pulls out a cellphone, he hands it to Daphne. “Can you hand this him, unlock also, you know the code.”
Daphne does as Freddie asked and hands the phone to BRIM.
“So what am I looking at?”
“We’ve recently discovered a lab that somehow has the ability to clone human beings.”
“So you’re telling me that those guys were clones?”
“I’m not completely sure but this may be the lead that we needed to crack this case wide open.”
Daphne gives Fred a side eye before continuing to rub on his shoulder.
“Okay then, I guess that we’re making some progress.” Replied BRIM.
The van goes quiet as they continue to their next destination. An uncalming expression forms across BRIM’s face as he looks over to Fred and Daphne who are back to their flirtatious ways inside of the vehicle. BRIM scoffs at the mere sight of the two lovebirds.
“Are you sure that you guys can help me figure out what I need to know because all I;m seeing is some amateur porn action about to get started inside of this van.”
Fred straightens up. “Don’t you worry bout a thing big guy, we’re almost to where we need to meet the rest of the gang so we can compare notes.”
BRIM nods as the ride continues. He looks out of the window, watching the traffic pass by as they ride on the road. He then looks back at the phone and begins to sift through the notes. Something catches his attention.
“Hey, Fred.. What’s up with this symbol?”
BRIM shows the phone to Daphne, pointing towards the symbol of two snakes wrapped around a staff. Fred looks at the symbol and a intrigued look forms across his face.
“I don’t know but it has a very familiar look to it.”
“That’s my point, I’ve seen this symbol a lot over the course of my life.”
“Maybe it’s one of those hidden symbols that are used to indoctrinate people without them knowing. Our research has led to something called MK Ultra.”
“MK Ultra..?” BRIM questioned. “What t’fuck is MK Ultra?”
Daphne continued. “MK Ultra is apparently some kind of farming factory where manipulation and control are one of its many ventures.”
“So what does that have to do with the doppelgangers?”
“From what I’ve learned.” Freddie added. “They have many influences on the world, a lot of times they are used to moving situations in favor of their political goal.”
BRIM nods his head in acknowledgement of what Fred just told him.
“Hmm, well I’ll take that into consideration.” BRIM said with a serious nod.
The ride is quiet for a moment but Fred quickly breaks the tension.
“So big match this Monday, huh?”
“Yeah, but it seems that my focus isn’t really on this match. Tamika and Charlie are some very viable opponents who I owe more concern than I’ve actually given too. Tamika set a new standard for being the Craze Champion while her sister Veronica trailblazer the Transatlantic title to a standard that I honestly didn’t know that it would go too. She may be an aunt but I’m not sure at this point.”
“I’m sure that Tamika is her aunt, I totally love the Straders!” Says an excited Daphne.
“Well the whole world apparently does, no matter what timeline it may be. Then there’s Charlie Nicks, a man who may be more up to a fight than me. I caught his last match, well his debut and the man was a complete maniac out there. And somewhere, deep inside of me, I felt a fire light up. I felt this urge to throw all caution to the wind and smack people around like I used to do. Then after our little encounter the other day in the back, it makes me want to knock him around even more. But like I said, he may have caught me on an off week. Which I’ve seem to have many of lately, but that doesn’t deter me from going out there and giving it my all. I just want them all to know that when I’m clear minded and ready to give it my all, they better be prepared to experience pain like they’ve never experienced before. I’ve dropped some of the best of them on their necks and I’m more than able to continue doing just that.”
“So what has you distracted?” Daphne questioned.
Both Fred and BRIM shoot her a ‘wtf’ look but BRIM entertains her bimboness.
“Well I’m currently sitting in a van with two complete strangers trying to solve a mystery that has all fuck to do with me but because of the severity of what the situation is I feel more drawn to it than the prospect of causing harm to two different very talented individuals. You see I’m the monster that this company knows in their hearts to truly fear but with the mindset that I have, it leaves a lot to be desired. I’m more inconsistent than I am a force and people think that makes me weak. Which I can agree with, this business is something that has become more or less a job to survive through these upcoming months and possibly years. I’ve had a taste of being near that mountain top and each time I wasn’t prepared to cross over to the other side. And who knows if I’ll ever make it to that point.” BRIM shrugs. “All I do know is that when you place certain things into perspective, it’s not as serious as others make it out to be. My end goal is not to be the best because I’m more than confident in what I can bring to the table.”
“So you're more concerned on cracking this case than winning your match?” Daphne fired back.
“Of course because it has become another distraction in the many distractions that already plague my life. The sooner that I can overcome and figure out what this is that’s happening currently. The quicker I can get back into that ring and give it my absolute all. There’s never been someone like me inside of that ring. Strong, agile, great striking ability.. Hell I’m the entire package but if I’m not able to one hundred percent focus on my opposition then I’m basically a sitting duck. See as a man, you have to know your strengths along with your weaknesses. You have to know what gets you out of your element and changes who you are completely. Then you have to know your strength so that you can easily maneuver around any challenge or obstacle. Me, myself.. I haven’t mastered that element yet but I’m damn sure working on. See these two are great within their own rights but if I don’t go into this thing feeling like I’m better than I might as well hadn’t shown up at all but I’m a man. A man who doesn’t back down from any fight. A man who stand toe to toe with any fucking body and straight up punch them in their fucking shit. That there is a fact, the word fear has never been in my vocabulary and it won’t penciled into that bitch today, tonight or any other time for that matter. Since the reincarnation of this place I’ve stood ten toes down while others have fiddled around with trying to mold this place to them. I’ve rolled with the punches, I’ve wiped the blood from my eyes and I’ve countless stitches to prove it.”
BRIM points to his forehead where it’s been scarred and mangled from the time of being in OCW.
“No fucking one has shedded more blood for this company than me, not any of the Straders. Not PTSD, no one! I’ve spilled more blood onto those canvases that I could have probably saved many lives at this point. See, I may not be within the inner circles of any of the cliques that float around the back but my ears are to the streets and I’m that there’s some kinda war coming. A war that I and my homies have seemed to found ourselves in the middle of. Now I’ll give credit where credit’s due. TLS.. Fucking legend.. Zybala, though annoying at times, he’s a fucking legend around these parts but for anyone else to come into this fold saying that want war is complete fuckery. I literally bleed OC’fucking’W, no one has made more sacrifices than my crew for this company. Hell, I lived in the arena for months until Thad gained control but if I’m going to fight for something. It’s going to be what I stand for and what I believe in and come Monday night, Tamika and Charlie are going to find out first hand exactly what that is.”
“Ahh, Fred.. This is such a relaxing ride..” says Daphne who puts her hand on Freddie’s thigh making him nervous.
