What’s up OCW fans! Holy smoking smoke...we’re so fricking close to House of Cards I can barely stand it! So excited I had to use the restroom SIX times last night...my bladder is quivering with anticipation.
But, you guys aren’t here to hear about my bodily functions. Maybe Alice. Possibly Vicky. But not the rest of you. You’re here for some LEO POSTULATIONS. Some INTERN HYPOTHESIZING.
And, seeing as it’s a BIG week for OCW and we’re nearing this week’s end...how about we mix ourselves up a nice literary cocktail and toss around some names who might be the MYSTERY ENTRANT into the Margarita Mix.
First off...what IS the Margarita Mix? The Mix is an open invite tournament pairing random people with each other into tag teams. The winning team receives an OCW Tag Team Title shot OR will square off for a shot at an active OCW singles championship. One would assume a win in either of these scenarios would mean a permanent roster slot.
Assuming is dangerous business. Risk making an ass out of u and me, right? Haha. But seriously, assume nothing.
Two Hall of Famers have won the Mix. Several more have been involved in its ultimate match. Chad Vargas defeated Mack O’Connor to win the inaugural Margarita Mix. A year later, Vincent Langston teamed with Melinda Rhodes to defeat OCW’s greatest legend Scott Syren and his tag partner, OCW Hall of Famer Curt Canon. Langston would springboard from his Mix win, capturing the OCW Tag Titles and Savage championship...eventually securing a spot in the Hall of Fame.
So, yes, the Mix is a big deal. Historically the winners are destined for big, HUGE things.
This year’s field is no exception. Looking at some of these names...it’s hard to imagine anybody being a clear favorite, at this point. So much talent. So many new faces. This is, truly, the most exciting Mix yet!
It wouldn’t be an open invite tournament without a little added intrigue. You know what I’m talking about...the tried and true pro wrestling trope of MYSTERY ENTRANT. Inevitably, when you hold an event like this, somebody is going to hide their identity until they are forced to reveal.
You simply aren’t a legit tournament until you have a mystery entrant.
Thankfully, OCW has its mystery entrant! Now, the question hangs in the air like a suspicious odor...who the heck is this person?
That’s what I’m here for. Let’s toss five names around that could, in fact, be the mystery entrant!
1) The Lost Soul
TLS is one of the greatest wrestlers in OCW history to not make the Hall of Fame. In fact, TLS hasn’t seen much success in OCW over the most recent run of his career. Many fans were surprised to see his lack of inclusion this go-around. But, he’s always lurking. TLS is a master of mind games and thrives by hurling the unexpected at his opponents. Smart money says TLS pops up in OCW at some point. A mystery entrant into the Mix could very likely be the spot.
2) Marcus Ka’Derrion
Marcus is to GCWA what Xavier Lux is to OCW. Son of a legend. Prodigy. World Champion. He most recently teamed with Lux in GCWA to capture the tag titles. The duo never lost those belts. Since OCW’s reopening, Marcus has been noticeably absent. A little TOO absent. Meanwhile, Lux has thrived. While the Sins community has always had one another’s back...there’s a strong sense of competitiveness within the group that cannot be underestimated. Is Ka’Derrion tired of sitting on the sidelines, looking for an opportunity to compete with Lux? This would make sense.
3) The Incredible One
By hook or by crook, TIO is going to get on the OCW roster. The man is determined. But, he’s got an equally determined GM standing in his way. The Mix seems like a convenient loophole TIO could manipulate to achieve his goal. Hiding under the ‘mystery’ guise might afford him enough time to work his way in to the fold deep enough where Who’Re would have no choice but to acquiesce and allow TIO a chance to perform. From that point forward...given his talent, it’s conceivable that TIO could carry his partner all the way to a Mix win and a roster spot.
4) Andrew Logan
Logan made his return to pro wrestling last year in both XWF and OCW’s prize tournament, ‘Manifest Destiny 2’. Logan looked great in his return, showing the form that earned him the OCW Championship nearly twenty years ago. Yet, just when he began to pick up steam...Logan vanished, once again. As with PerZag, Logan is teetering on the brink of breaking into the OCW Hall of Fame. Perhaps one, final, major achievement could do it. Is the Margarita Mix his shot at OCW immortality? I wouldn’t be surprised to see his name called this coming Tuesday.
5) Tony Savage
“But he’s the CFO!” you say. Yes, he is. Savage is also unpredictable. A man who loves seeing his name atop the marquee. He brought the Mix back. This was his idea. So, wouldn’t it be fitting if he jumped in at the last possible second as the mystery entrant to SPICE things up? It certainly wouldn’t surprise me. Savage had a decent run in OCW back in 2019 that was unfortunately cut short. And, while he is relishing his role as CFO...you just know, back in his mind, he’s wondering ‘what if’...what if he had one more shot to really give it his all in OCW. Could he rise to the top? The Mix gives him a short cut to that goal...if he so desired.
Well, there ya have it...five names that COULD wind up as the Mystery Entrant. In truth, I have no idea who it is. The name behind the mysterious label is probably NOT on this list. But it’s fun to speculate, right?
Anyway...House of Cards is almost here, OCW fans...so power through the rest of your work week because this weekend might literally rock your face off.
Until next time, I’m Leo. Signing OUT.
