Leo the High School Intern here...and we’re in the final stretch, racing toward House of Cards. So, you know what that means...possible roster expansion? Roster spots coming available?
Yep. It’s time to speculate. Who we might see, very soon, on an updated OCW roster! So, let’s run down some names that seem to be surfacing over and over when it comes to potentially joining OCW.
1. Crash Rodriguez
Crash Rodriguez was a late arrival to the OCW roster in 2019. But, he made an instant impact. His biggest moment came when he challenged Ed Houston for the Craze Title at Redacted. Crash would come up short...but his performance left many in the company believing it was only a matter of time before he would hold championship gold. Crash’s attorney, Lou Pohl, has been working hard to get his client back into the OCW mix. Will he succeed? Many sources think he will.
2. Jason Cashe
Cashe is OCW’s white whale. For years they’ve tried to lure the Pro Wrestling legend into the company and, I’m told, on two occasions a deal was agreed upon only for it to fall apart at the last, possible second. Once again, it seems there’s mutual interest between Cashe and OCW...many within the company feel Cashe’s attitude and style would blend perfectly with OCW’s asylum-like atmosphere. Will the third time be the charm?
3. Bob Grenier
Bob Grenier loves OCW. And, OCW loves Bob Grenier. He’s as OCW as it gets. The fact this man remains alive is a modern miracle. He’s sacrificed everything he has for this promotion and would gladly do it again. Will he get the opportunity? We’re not sure what the hold up is in regards to Bob returning to OCW...but something seems to be standing in the way. Regardless, I think every pro wrestling fan would love to see Grenier return to OCW, where he belongs.
4. PerZag
Once again, PerZag fell short in Hall of Fame voting. There is no wrestler outside the Hall of Fame with a better resume than PerZag. Could he be looking to return in an effort to bolster his resume...pushing it over the top, earning that Hall of Fame spot? PerZag is an OCW original. His first pro wrestling match took place in an OCW ring and it would be fitting if he wrestled his final match right here, in OCW. Will it happen? Stay tuned.
5. Abel Tyler
A name most OCW fans are unfamiliar with. Abel Tyler expressed interest in joining OCW earlier this month. I’m told he finally got a tryout with the company. OCW GM Who’Re left impressed with what Tyler can do inside the ring. There’s always the propensity for siding with youth and a fresh face over the recycled veterans. Could Abel Tyler get the nod over some of the aforementioned names on this list?
Honorable Mention – Lilith
Yikes. A polarizing name, for sure. But one that surfaced a few weeks back. I’m told Lilith showed up at OCWHQ and had a meeting with GM Who’Re. What came from that meeting? We’re not entirely sure. All I can say is that Lilith is interested in rejoining OCW. The main snag in all of this is Sarah Twilight. Sources close to the situation say there is NO WAY Twilight will ever return to the company. Would Lilith be willing to return without Twilight? Many wrestling experts believe Lilith has the talent to be a major star...IF she were to break away and go solo. Could this be that opportunity?
Wildcard – Logan
Logan’s name came up during the Lilith rumors. He’s always been loosely aligned with Lilith and Twilight. If Lilith were to return, without Twilight, would she bring Logan along? Logan was the OCW Savage Champion when the company closed down in 2019. He’s a very talented competitor with main event potential. No doubt, if Logan expressed interest in returning, OCW would be interested.
So there you have it...several names to keep an eye on as we head into House of Cards. I don’t know what’s in store for this roster, at the moment. But I can tell you this.
This roster will look different post-House of Cards. That, OCW fans, is a fact.
Until next time, I’m Leo the High School Intern.
