A short glass is flipped then a couple of golf size ice cubes get dropped inside it. A lime is cut in half and one of the halves get its delicious juiced squeezed out onto the ice. A jalapeno pepper is next, it gets sliced up and 3 small slices are dropped inside. A can of grapefruit soda is popped open and a quarter of its content gets poured into the glass followed by some chili powder. Lastly, a bottle of tequila comes into view, and a generous amount gets poured in. A hand picks up the glass and spins the glass around, so the contents get mixed nicely. The hand then brings the freshly made cocktail to someone’s lips, but before the person can take a sip, they are interrupted.
"So why didn’t you tell me Enigma was alive?"
The person sighs and puts the drink down, and as the scene opens up fully we see that we are in a private jet and the person making themselves a drink was Paco who is seating down on a beige leather recliner. The person who interrupted him is Xavier who is seating across from him. There is a small window in between the two, and outside we see nothing but white clouds passing us by. Paco looks up at Lux and shakes his head.
Paco: You couldn’t just let me enjoy my drink could you?
Xavier: Not before you give me answers.
Paco: Come on mi’jo, you know I make the best spicy paloma cocktail in the world!
Xavier: Not right now Paco, I want you to tell me what the connection between Enigma and Scorpion is.
Paco: Listen to yourself man? What is the connection? Chit, pick one ese! They were together in one of the bigger inter-fed stables back in the day. They are like brothers. You better off asking me how are they not… and I didn’t tell you about Enigma being alive because why should I? He’s nothing to you or you to him; you have never even met the guy.
Xavier: Yeah well clearly he’s something since he’s decided to get involved.
Paco: I’m sure there is a reason why he has decided to reach out to you, but for all we know, maybe Scorpion reached out to him to get to you. Did you think about that?
Xavier: Well, no…
Paco: Of course not and you want to know why? Because you are obsessed! You are not thinking clearly or logically; that is why you need me around. You need me to keep your head on straight and your feet on the path that you need to be walking on, and that is the path which leads to you defending your World Title successfully at House of Cards. That’s where your obsession should be, beating Brim again, leaving no doubt in anyone’s mind that you deserve to be champion. Making everyone understand that you didn’t escape the prison yard as champion, you walked out of there as champion.
Xavier: Nice try Paco, but no, I don’t need you.
"Good, because I do."
~A man we haven’t seen before is seen coming out of the bathroom zipping his jean shorts up. He wears a Hawaiian type shirt, unbuttoned with nothing underneath to reveal his very muscular torso. He sports a healthy afro, yes, in 2021, deal with it, and has a handsome smile on his face that comes through nicely despite him having a full goatee.~
Xavier: See Paco? Gio needs you more than I do, go help him win more millions of dollars.
Gio takes a seat next to Paco and grabs his drink, taking a long sip before his eyes get opened wide with excitement.
Gio: Damn Tio, this is some good shit!
Paco: That was mine pendejo!
Gio: Was indeed, so damn good. Anyway, what we talking about? Your daddy issues again? Don’t you have a big title match to prepare for?
Xavier: Don’t you have another tournament for a cup no one gives a shit about to go try to win only to come up short at the end?
Gio just smiles, takes another sip and then looks at Lux.
Gio: Don’t worry about me, I made five million dollars in 6 weeks of work which took you how long to make? Exactly… and besides, the Margarita Mix Cup doesn’t get started for another few weeks.
Xavier: Spare me.
Gio: No, I won’t. Because you see, unlike your ungrateful ass, I would very much like to have my uncle in my corner to drop that knowledge that you think you need any more. But think back to when you started puto.
Xavier gives Gio a surprised look.
Gio: Yeah, I know about that, he’s told me all about it. You were stubborn then just as you are now if not more… But happens when you don’t listen to him? You fall flat on your face. But careful, don’t fall flat on your face again, might do it inside of a grave.
Xavier gets to his feet in a threatening stance and Gio gets to his feet too, Paco, much slower than the two, also gets to his feet and gets between them.
Xavier: What the fuck is that supposed to mean Cholo?
Gio: Guess, puto.
Xavier: Look, I get your upset with me because I didn’t tag with you to kick off your career, but I had to do this for me, couldn’t have you or Paco in my life. It was just a favor to him anyway, I really don’t owe you a damn thing.
Gio: That’s right ese, you don’t owe me shit. I became a multimillionaire without you and thanks all to my tio right here. But you owe him a lot and is about time you start to recognize it.
Cholo grabs ‘his’ drink, and heads to the back of the plane. Paco sits back down and starts to make himself another drink. Xavier looks down at Paco with guilt, he sits back down and looks out the window. In it he sees the reflection of the OCW World Title, he turns to the other side and sees it sitting on top of a round mahogany table, shining brightly and looking damn good. Xavier smiles proudly and then looks at Paco who has finished making his drink and sips it slowly. Xavier’s smile is wiped away and regret takes over his face.
Xavier: Look Paco, I-
Paco: Forget it mi’jo, don’t worry about it. Don’t mind Cholo, he’s full of passion, his heart is in a good place though. Sit down and strap in, we’re almost there.
Before Xavier can say another word, the plane begins its descent and Xavier puts on his seatbelt and looks at Paco one last time.
Xavier: Can I at least have one of them cocktails?
Paco looks at him and smiles.
Paco: Simon que si, take this one.
Paco gives him his drink and then starts making another. Xavier smiles and then takes a sip of the drink and he too is blown away by it. The scene slowly fades to black, but it comes back after a few seconds and we find ourselves in the private parking lot of El Salvador’s national airport. There are two gray Landrover defenders parked side by side with the drivers patiently waiting for the passengers to get in. We see Xavier Lux shaking hands with Paco while Gio just gets into one of the rides.
Xavier: Look Paco, I am thankful, even if I have a hard time showing it. But I just gotta do this.
Paco: I told you, don’t worry about it, but Mi’jo, listen, where you are going, is, how do I say this, different.
Xavier: Different? How?
Paco: Look, let’s just say that if you thought the cloaked ninja was weird, you haven’t seen nothing yet. Don’t question what happens, just embrace it and hopefully you’ll get your answers. The driver knows where he is taking you, no point in me telling you, wouldn’t make a difference.
Xavier: You creeping me out a bit Paco.
Paco: Yeah well creeping is what Enigma does.
Xavier: Why couldn’t this guy just facetime or send me a text.
Paco: Ja, probably because he doesn’t own any electronics. It’s getting late, go, you need to get there just as the sun sets.
Paco pats him on the shoulder and then gets in the Landrover with Cholo. Xavier watches them as their ride pulls away and then gets inside his. Our view changes to that of an aerial shot and we are shown a montage of the Landrover cruising down the roads of El Salvador, sometimes driving along the beach, others climbing mountains, going through tunnels, you know, typical long trip montage. The view changes to that of Lux looking out the window at the scenery, and as he does we listen to his inside voice through the magic of technology.
"So you think I am a “lucky motherfucka” Brim? Yeah you are not alone in that sentiment. Many believe that I got away with one at the Prison Yard Match, hell, many think that I’ve got away with many. Even some of the other wrestlers in their promos for House of Cards are saying how lucky I am to be champion and if it wasn’t for so and so or this and the other, they would be champion instead. Well, call it luck, destiny, witchcraft, a setup, whatever, it makes no difference to me. I haven’t hidden behind the fact that I know I didn’t beat every single wrestler in that match. I am on record as saying that I ‘outlasted’ 6 other man to be one of the final two and I beat the only opponent I needed to beat in order to win the World Title. You all call it luck but all I did was play the game how it was meant to be played, and I won."
"Next week we have another game to play, and I plan on playing it the same way: play it to win. Sure you may have seen that I am making some alliances, but they are not being made to help me win, no, don’t make that mistake. The agreements with the two possible alliances are very simple, keep them off my back and I’ll keep them off of yours. All 3 of us don’t need the others to win our matches, but we’re not stupid either… We know others will try to get involved regardless of their reason for getting involved. Hell, I know most guys don’t like me, but I know most don’t like you either Brim and from what I can tell you haven’t made a single attempt at an alliance. Not very smart, specially when you know at least two guys want payback on you. Get yourself some help Brim, I don’t want to hear any excuses when I beat you and prove to the whole world that the first time was not a fluke win. "
The driver tells Xavier that they are almost there, he assumes, he speaks in Spanish. Xavier nods and continues his inner monologue.
"Brim, you say that there is nothing that will stop you from leaving House of Cards with both titles, but I have to disagree. There is something, or rather, someone that can: me. Nobody else, at the end of the day, don't worry about Vaughn, Zybala, Krayzie, the kids in that bunker who you likely will bring to the arena, nobody. I did it before, and I will do it again at House of Cards; I’m going all in and doubling up when it is all said and done."
They arrive at their destination, a very small town that has an old western feel to it. There is only a single dirt road going through the town and there are houses and shops scattered about to the right and left of it. At the end of the road, a large white church that has seen better days still stands. There is no electricity running through the town and in fact, it looks to be abandoned. Xavier wonders if this is the right place and asks the driver who in turn speaks Spanish to Lux but he tells him he doesn’t understand. The driver points towards the church and then with two of his fingers he shows Lux that he needs to walk over there. Lux reluctantly gets out of the car and tells the driver to wait here and then begins walking up the dirt road; but when he is only about 25 feet away from the car, the Landrover speeds away, leaving Xavier in a cloud of dust. Xavier tries to run after him but he’s gone. Xavier waves his arms, trying to clear the dusts and then looks around, trying to find someone to help but the place is deserted. Realizing he has no other options but to continue on this quest, he starts to walk towards the church and as he does, the sun finally sets. A heavy fog stars to creep in and before we know it, we lose sight of Xavier and we are left to wonder, will he find the Enigma? Will he tell him where his father is? Will he even get out of this and make it back in time for House of Cards? I guess only time will tell…
"So why didn’t you tell me Enigma was alive?"
