Funding for this would come directly from Kenshin Takamura's pocket which brought up another question: why would Kenshin shell out his own money to help another person's company that he barely knows? Yes, it is an investment and he will be, much later on, making a profit provided OCW succeeds, but the ultimate answer is a little deeper. OCW's old school ways of business and promising spirit encouraged Kenshin Takamura that he was in the right place. A place that he believes could truly revolutionize professional wrestling as we know, but at the same time, keep the things that we know and love about sports entertainment.
Takamura's investment wasn't a small one either. Through Sony and a rather large pyrotechnic company, he was able to procure a brand new Titan Tron for OCW, a computerized pyrotechnic system, and a state-of-the-art sound system for OCW to travel with. It didn't hurt that Kenshin's cousin is a rather important fellow at Sony either.
Kenshin Takamura isn't the only wrestling talent that has invested in the company though. It's well-known throughout the company that Bobinette Carey also threw some of her own cash down to see to Online Championship Wrestling's success. When asked what she thought about the news of Kenshin, she replied, "Well, I'm uberly glad I'm not the only one who wanted to do what is best for the company."
Only time will tell if OCW can withstand the test of time thanks to these two wrestlers and the rest of the roster. Their contributions will certainly help Online Championship Wrestling move in the right direction. The future of OCW isn't very far off either because this new equipment will debut at OCW's first Supershow back, Resurrection. Just another great reason to tune into the already stellar show OCW is putting on!
